Go to the best 16 teams in the country. Playoffs would look like this:
1 Indiana
16 USC

8 OKLA
9 BAMA

4 TX TECH
13 TEXAS

5 OREGON
12 BYU

2 OHIO ST
15 UTAH

7 TX A&M
10 MIAMI

3 UGA
14 VANDY

6 OLE MISS
11 NOTRE DAME

It’s even easier than that.

Top 12

No auto bids

Chips fall where they may

Did you get to tell Bosworth you’re the real Boz?

We chatted for about 5 mins actually. He absolutely loved I’m a Boz as well. He told me on the side he thought the game would be a toss up.

I was telling a friend that the 1-3 teams shoukd get to pick their opponents based on seeding.

Georgia, as the 3 seed, gets the easier path. Indiana and OSU would rather play Ole Miss than who they are playing.

I like 16 with no byes, top 8 get a home game, bowl match-ups after that... and agreed... no automatic bids

16 is fine. I just want it to be clean. No auto bids. Whatever rank you are, is what you are.

I know it would've meant we stayed home, but I want to go back to four teams.

Twelve teams is too many.

If we scrap, or at least seriously limit, the portal and start relegating all the never going to be competitive shite heap programs the bottom halves of the B1G and ACC are full of, I'd agree. Too much parity has been created to limit it to 4 now.

And here's the rub ... to me. These folks have created a cottage industry from their rankings manipulation.

I want it taken out of their hands and remove b-shite of AP and Coaches polls all together. Rank by algorithm, fairly, with sos, qow, qol, etc. ... while punishing those who game the system... Finally... stop issuing [official] poll rankings for the first half of the season, seeding programs, giving them head starts... See Notre Dame.

Were you the guy on the sideline that cost us 15 yards?

All these games kind of suck.

If we are going to be honest that the G5 can no longer compete in the transfer portal era, we also need to be honest that the ACC, Big XII, and most of the B1G are nowhere near the SEC.

If the SEC just added Florida State, Clemson, Miami, and Georgia Tech, I’d support a full split from FBS by the SEC.

Yeah I actually prefer four. I could see eight max. But twelve and sixteen is too many.

I would be so interested to see the outcome of all of those hypothetical games you listed.

16 with no preferred treatment and two weekends of campus games would be the best playoff format.

After that they need to figure out solutions for bowls to remain meaningful. And then NIL, salary cap, student/employee clarifications, transfer limitations, and calendar cleanup.

It’s stupid that #1 doesn’t get the lowest seed.

Do away with the committee, use the BCS computers only and take the Top 12 or Top 16, no automatic bids.

If I were king of college football
1) Use a BCS style of computer to rank teams with a fully open selection process. Something like the weekly BCS rankings many years ago.
2) Go to the top 16 to 20 teams in playoffs.
3) Every team is forced to enter a conference.
4) Teams for the playoffs is chosen prior to playoff selection.
5) No automatic byes.

In the SEC
1) 9 team conference games is stopped immediately.
2) SECCG is probably stopped immediately....But if by some miracle it is kept, it begins to rotate to other towns on a yearly basis. Nashville, New Orleans, Texas towns, etc
3) Fully rotating SEC conference games with no perm rivalries.
