Sooners what’s a traditional dish I might smell at a tailgate? Anything unique?

Oklahoma Onion Burger or Indian Taco.

Oklahoma specializes in Steers and hamster/May-O-Naise sandwiches. You might smell a tinge of shite on the hamster.

I'll say this having attended the game there last year.
Oklahoma has good fans and outstanding tailgating.
They've also got a great steakhouse in town.
I'm looking forward to going back next season.
Good people.

Here's one for you and it isn't a "sounds like" because it IS one.
Pole Assassin
FTR, she is a Texas stripper and when I say Texas I am referring to the school as well as the state of the same name.
If you ever have an opportunity to see her, be careful because her pet monkey can be a real bastard when it feels like it.

That looks like a smashburger with tapeworms.

Barbecue, first and foremost. Memphis style pork ribs, beef brisket, hot links. Onion Burgers may fit in there somewhere.
I want to try that Alabama style white bbq chicken, looks interesting but hard to say what it tastes like

One thing about Oklahoma is that the BBQ styles are kind of mixed between KC, Memphis and Texas.
And Oklahoma's unique contribution to the BBQ world is smoked baloney.
Sounds low rent... but it is actually pretty tasty. At least compared to not smoked baloney.

Oklahoma onion burgers are good...basically how I make smash burgers every time...but we call them smash burgers in MO. I think smash burgers are different based on where you go, which restaurant, etc.

100% facts.
And, I love smoked bologna. Plus it's super easy to do.

Onion burgers are great and Indian tacos are pretty tasty. If I could get it, I'd go with a Del Rancho steak sandwich and Pinocchio bread sticks followed by a few scoops of Braum's ice cream.

Smoked bologna is popular there, and it is pretty damn good. If you've never smoked a chub, you're missing out.
