With the new 9 game conference schedule it will be a tough road for any of these coaches to make it to the playoffs in their first year.

In fact, four out of these six coaches will statistically fail to live up to the expectations of the fan bases within three years.

After looking over newly released schedules for 2026, this is my estimate:

Auburn 6-6

Arkansas 5-7

Florida 7-5

Kentucky 4-8

LSU 9-3

Old Miss 8-4

So, four of these teams will qualify for a bowl bid, but that alone doesn't seem to still be a basic standard of success.

If LSU kills it in the transfer portal, which I expect we will, we're going better than 9-3.

Of course it is my opinion...

I.E. LSU has six tough games on their schedule, not including Auburn.

Three of those tough games come in November.

Sankey has added another weekend of elimination games. This year a 10-2 record will likely be equivalent to a 9-3 record next year.

When they make a movie about this in the future, it'll be titled "Chasing Saban"

Ole Miss is about to fall back to the bottom. After the playoffs, half the team will enter the transfer portal.

And Ole Miss fans will turn on Pete Golding fast, crying and bitching when they win 4-5 games next season.

I watched a podcast yesterday where it was pointed out the Saban kept Sankey from going to a nine game conference schedule.

The Saban era is over. And you can't compare it to the current situation because Sankey made it more difficult for an SEC team to win a CFP trophy.

Fill in the blanks with your own projections:

Auburn ____

Arkansas ____

Florida ____

Kentucky ____

LSU ____

Old Miss ____

All six coaches talked about their plans to succeed.

Some will succeed and others won't.

Don’t give us all the glory. No one melts down like a disappointed bama fan. Ask Side Taint.

My take is that LSU has a 9-3 regular season.

If you disagree, put up your own estimate.

I don’t disagree with that. If we have a few things go our way, I can see 10-2. But the constant whining about 9 game schedules gets old. Other conferences have been doing that for years

I don't know what'll happen with Ole Miss

But 8-4 seems like it would be a very good result and should be encouraging to Ole Miss fans if it happens.
