With the roster that’s in place. Curt Cignetti has just accomplished the greatest coaching job in modern college football history. Would Nick Saban have them 13–0, would Urban Meyer, would Kirby smart? I don’t think any of them would. What Curt has done with that program is beyond belief.

Its certainly legendary.

They won't make it through a three team gauntlet of talent though.

Either he is the luckiest SOB that has ever coached football or he’s going to be the highest paid coach in America somewhere real soon.

He's pretty long in the tooth already. He may not want to upgrade.

I was at the game Saturday. Truly remarkable if you have ever followed Big Ten Football.

The IU crowd was just beyond jubilation at the end. First BIG title since 1967. Joy everywhere.

As an OSU fan, the missed opportunities hurt but as a lover of CFB, you couldn't help but smile a bit.

They've played an easy schedule and their 2 best wins were vs teams that didn't play difficult schedules either. None of those 3 teams have really been tested. They are good on paper.

IU has some big money boosters. If he can get them engaged and keep them engaged they could go on a nice little run.

It's almost like he made a deal with the Devil at the crossroads or something.

It's not fair to ask who else could do it, because there's absolutely no way to know, but the job he's done has been excellent.

I will say, that like Saban, that team has adopted his demeanor and bought into his process/system.

Move Indiana into the SEC and see what happens. Cignetti had to win two games this games. Two. The rest were gimmes.

i'd rather play any team in the SEC than any of those 3 in the playoffs.

Name any coach that would have Indiana at 13-0 without NIL and the transfer portal. It was written just last week or the week before that Indiana had more living alumni than any college in the country. Those dollars add up. Coaches have had to be salesmen forever. More so now than any time in the past.

You have to remember this is Indiana. We’re talking about. There’s no such thing as a gimmie game for them.

I don't know how to put into words or even explain what Cignetti has done at Indiana. It is one of the greatest turn arounds in college football history, in my opinion. It's unreal that he's taken mostly two and three star kids (mixed with some four stars) and currently is the best team in the country. Yet you've got coaches like DeBoer, Brian Kelly, James Franklin and many others who had a ton more talent and isn't accomplishing what he has in the last two years. It's unreal.

Over the weekend. They mentioned that Bill Mallory was Indiana's winningest coach in Big Ten games. He won 39 BIG Ten games in 13 years! Averaging 3 wins per year.

Cignetti has 18 in 2 years.

We are gonna find out because now the new season starts. What got him here will not get him to an NC. OU or Bama will challenge them.

His turnaround has been remarkable no doubt about it.

I don't see them going 3-0 the rest of the way but still to have even been 13-0 and #1 in the country as B1G champs at IU is nothing short of a miracle.

IU started their series with the Buckeyes 4-0-1 they have since gone 9-80-4 it's hard to even comprehend numbers that bad for that long.

No one on the planet.

I love Kirby and would take him any day over DeBoer (he's the only coach besides Cignetti I would take over DeBoer right now) buuuuut ......

Kirby might could do it but it would take him a number of years (5-6 years) to get close.

I was there as well. IU is damn good and they won that game by beating Ohio State not Ohio State beathing themselves. They are going to be a tough out.
