HUGH EDIT: Never met a state university of ohio fan that actually attended and graduated from the school. LMFAO

Well there are 650,000 of us, so guess you don't get out much.
(slightly higher than the 200,000 Alabama alumni). How many of your fans are graduates of that highly acclaimed :rolleyes: 169th ranked university?
In the Cooper years it was brutal against Michigan. 2-10-1
Never won while I was a student in the early 90s
That is what made the recent stretch of 17-2 against Michigan so sweet

As long as they keep buying Bama players and 97 transfers… there’s no need for them to fire a coach. They have like one kid on the team from Ohio. .

Salty much?

Ohio state officially has 30 players from Ohio. When you have the all time highest winning percentage in cfb history (.737) and only two losing seasons in 60 years, recruits want to come from across the land. As far as transfers, we have only taken 5 or 6 per year.

We need some type BCS formula where it's a mix of polls & computers.

BCS formula would have the same 1-2-3 rank as committee

Great resource is Massey computer composite

Shows you the rankings of all college computers

Ohio State mostly 1-2
IU mostly 1-2
A&M. 2 to 7

Those are unbiased computers
BIG should ensure all teams play a P4 non conference game like the SEC.
Only fair given SEC matched the 9 game conference schedule
How will we react when we really play a good team with a dynamic QB?
Will our Oline hold up against an elite D-line?
Will we be ready when we get smacked in the mouth?
SOS is only one of multiple measures to be looked at.....

Like for instance, not given up 42 points to 2-7 Arkansas
I agree. Only 3 ranked teams on this years schedule. Similar to A&M.

The fact that you call this the "harder" schedule is the problem.

Well 6 of them are ranked this week.
Go through the SEC and tell me whose schedule has more than 6 teams currently ranked this week

Alabama-5
Georgia-5
A&M- 3
Miss-2

I concur with your post but want to point out that USC has one several titles in the same time frame as SEC new additions Texas and OU.
Also, Oregon has played for 3 titles (close vs Auburn).

But get it, beyond that- not much

Where are the hard games? Those teams are mediocre at best.

Well, 6 of them are ranked this week.
LSU only playing 5 currently ranked teams this year
They are penalizing A&M because of giving up 42 to Arkansas……
Arkansas.

They mentioned Defense twice in the conversation last night.
I agree the BIG needs to balance schedules better.

Never fear, in 2026 we rotate back to the harder schedule
@Texas
@IU
@Iowa
@USC
@Nebraska
Illinois
Oregon
Michigan
I believe the reason they put OSU over IU was the fact that we played Texas and IU had a cupcake non-conference

Wish CFP would adopt ACC open replay review process.
I'll be sweating if we get SEC refs in playoffs.
Not because of homerism.....just bad refs.

OSU could well be the best team in the country but there is no way to know with their soft schedule.

Not sure what we are supposed to do. We scheduled Texas, have Michigan, had pre-season #2 (can't help they fell apart) and rotated out of IU, Oregon and Iowa who we played last year. All we can do is handle what is in front of us. But giving up 6.9 pts a game through 8 games is handling what was in front of us.

Everyone talks about Texas, but we had a freshman QB who never had seen the light of day, we led with our D and ground it down. I say perfectly played.
Oh, and that freshman has turned out to be alright.

I would suspect the Big Ten would follow suit on the 1 Power 4 game, most of us do it anyway (cough, cough PSU).

Also, I wouldn’t fret about your 9 game schedule. Additional amazing matchups which will cement the tv ratings dominance for all slots not containing OSU or Michigan (when they are good). This will be incredibly solid data when tv contracts are renegotiated

Sooner or later Ohio St will own this record.

We don’t make it on a technicality. Although we have been ranked since 2012, Big Ten teams were not included in the first few polls of COVID year because we didn’t start playing until 2-3 weeks after most others.

This thread, yet again, reminds me why this SEC forum is in dire need of a very thorough Buckeye poster-purging. Gees...

C’mon, we really don’t have anyone else to talk to. :lol:
