Did DeBoer's Hubris Cost BAMA a CFP Invite?

Really...going for it from near your ten yard line with nearly 9 minutes left in the game is pretty arrogant and sends the committee a message that even your bad losses shouldn't matter because....after all, we're untouchable from an ESPN ratings viewpoint.

If you’re going to go for it, call something better than that.

The panic hire of DeBoer cost BAMA quite a bit.

That was bad, but also not kicking a FG with 3 min left, 4th and 10 from the UGA 20...
Just saying 28-10 looks alot better than 28-7

Optics matter. 21-7 or 21-10 CFP lock. 28-7 cannot get the recency bias out of my head.

If he did he'd be getting ripped for window dressing.
No-win situation.

Duh bawer thought he was playing a shitty Auburn team and figured he could just go for it on 4th down and get a free TD

Your offense was doing next to nothing outside of the 1 TD, he probably figured he needed to make every possesion count.
Punting was basically giving up, but if you convert at least you have a chance.
Problem wasn’t going for it, but it was a bad play and a worse throw.

Let's see what the committee says. They have the final word anyways.

Going for it was giving up because failure literally gifted a three score game. Risk assessment by the Coach has to include not only the likelihood of success/failure, but also the consequences of each.

Jones (#15 GA) almost single handily pulled Bama into the playoffs.

Correct. When you’re down by 3 TDs in the 4th, you have to go for a TD. Especially if you went for it deep in your own territory earlier.

Bama wasn’t winning that game.
The QB makes or breaks the DeBoer offense. Unfortunately our QB play collapsed down the stretch this year due to injury and last year due to player limitations.
It’s the way it goes.
