If you had to make a college football team, with just players from one state all time, and that you think would give you the best opportunity to win the national title today.

I think there would be a lot of really good teams that are very deep especially when you’re thinking about all time players from college football from that state even states that aren’t that deep would have deep teams.

LA be pretty stout. But every state could make a super team.

QB Peyton Manning
RB Marshal Faulk
RB Matt Forte
WR Reggie Wayne
WR Jamar Chase
WR Justin Jefferson
WR Odell Beckham
TE David LeFleur

that offense is enough

Then add in Ed Reed, Patrick Surtain, Aeneas Williams and everybody else on D.

I think there’s an argument for California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana. Unless I’m forgetting something, it’s between these states.

Historically, Mississippi.

All the offensive talent, some of the recent DL and put Jerry Clower in as a player/GM and Mike Leach as a transplant coach.

I'd watch every Saturday.

What a tough question. Tons of variables. Absolutely no way I'm taking the time to make an informed opinion on this, so I'll just go w/ the totally uniformed opinion; Texas.

That’s a good team, but Delpit was born in Louisiana and raised in Texas so I would count him as Texas, but you can count him as a Louisiana football player if you want I’m sure there’s plenty to replace him that are just as good

Believe it or not Mississippi would be up there. Even has Ray Guy as a punter.

Oline might be a problem though.

Played against him, and figured I didn’t have to name every RB from Louisiana to get the point across ha. I mean you forget Warrick Dunn also and some others.

IDK how this thread got this long with no mention of the State of Alabama. Just consider RB alone:

Bo Jackson, Marcus Dupree, Cadillac Williams, the Goode brothers, and I can't keep straight how many of UAT's last 20 years of RB crop were from the state.

Georgia has to be in the conversation too.

Just what they did in college for schools in that particular state? Florida, Georgia, and Texas clear everyone.

Hell pick 2 out of Florida, Miami, and Florida State alone and you probably whip everyone’s arse.

ETA: if you are doing what state they graduated high school from then it’s still Florida, Texas, and Georgia. Anyone saying another state is full of shite.

Clarifying question are we using born in, grew up in or played in as the qualifier or any of the three.
