I don't care one way or other about Ole Miss in general, but those players and the fans deserve better than this.

Sure, you should be able to fire a coach and hire an interim who is already at your program or unemployed. But under no circumstance should you be able to hire a head coach or coordinator of another program.

Dude STFU.. The players get paid now and can come and go as they please. Spare me on it not being fair for the players.

The NCAA made the weather and now they're standing out in it saying "shite! It's raining!"

Agreed. But I think the better fix is to get rid of conference championship games move the CFP up 2 weeks. National championship should be played New Years Day.

That gives about 2-2.5 weeks for transfers/early enrollees to enroll, so no need to have coaches bail on their playoff teams.

Or get rid of ESD and move the portal window to early February to coincide with the original NSD.

The peanut gallery "It's not fair" is typical coming from the Aggies.

I hear you but this is running up against labor law, so I’m doubtful anything will be done.

I’m also curious what happens to recruits and portal targets. You shouldn’t have to pay a coach for all the work for them just to see them go somewhere else. But again, I’m not sure what can actually be done vs what needs to be done.

I believe that would be known as collusion. Lawyers would have a field day in court if that were to happen. Anyway, I don't consider the last day of November as being considered "mid-season".

But, but, but that ruins the long standing tradition of conference championship games and ruins the sanctity of the sport even more..............wait, nevermind, conference championship gamea are a relatively new thing and were created primarily to generate more TV money.

Like Elko lying to the Duke players then sneaking out overnight to A&M and letting them know via Zoom?

You mean setting an example like that?

Aggy needs to sit this one out entirely as per usual.

Bingo

You want to create “fairness” by allowing players to transfer to the highest bidder? Why is anyone surprised at this.

A university needs to have the right to fire a coach at any time. Imagine if an SEC school ever hired.a coach that gets drunk and goes around to fish camps, challenging people to fight. That would be very embarrassing for any school that hired a deranged lunatic if something like this were to ever happen.

Should the institutions not be held to an even higher standard?

Everyone is dumb getting mad about this. You wanted pro sports so now you are getting it.

There is no soul to college sports anymore.
