Leading candidates are Will Stein, Brian Hartline, and Dan Mullen. The coaching carousel be crazy this year. It’s out of control.

And it’s mostly SEC vacancies. Without a clear leader of the pack. Who is everyone chasing?

Looks like Stein. Great hire. And very quick too. Didn’t fire Stoops til they had their guy.

Didn't A&M almost hire him two years ago?

I think Stein will be good there. One of the better OCs out there.

Bizarre that they are hiring a Louisville guy, regardless of the resume. It's not like that's a slam-dunk.

Stoops went 5-7 this year and 4-8 last year. Not great. Not horrible. Joker Philips had a losing record all 3 years and had them go 2-10 in his final year. Rich Brooks lost at least 5 games all 7 years he was there.

Kentucky is not a good job. They're not going to spend a ton on football. I doubt their next hire does as well as Stoops did.

Them hiring an Ohio guy is their best bet.

I feel like that as well. It feels like NIL just ruined any small chance they had of staying competitive. It surprises me that they can find anyone that will take that job. Aside from Bear Bryant, UK is a place where coaches go to die and when you look at the struggles of their basketball program in recent history, the last concern the fanbase has is with the football programs NIL needs.

Kentucky firing their coach after a 5-7 season is crazy. Vandy and Indiana and NIL got people thinking they can make it happen.

Buckeyes were nervous they would hire Hartline because the rumor was he wanted the job if it came open.

Yes. He was all but hired until there was some booster revolt and they ended up hiring Elko. That was Bjork as AD and a few weeks later he left for tOSU.
