I'm so confused why Oklahoma is some lock while BYU, Miami, and Vanderbilt are behind them?

Their fluke win over Alabama? Beating a mediocre Michigan team at home? They have one good win, looking over their schedule.

Just weird that they're a lock, not saying they definitely don't deserve it, but they shouldn't be a shoo-in either, I wouldn't think.

Vandy taking their slot with a blowout win on the road vs. a nail biter at home against an unranked team would be delicioso

You keep saying win. I'm not sure you know what that means.

10-2; top 10 strength of schedule and top 10 strength of record, more ranked wins than the teams you mentioned. Oklahoma has a better resume, that is why.

Three years ago most people here were arguing why 3 loss SEC teams belonged in the playoffs. Now people are arguing why some 2 loss teams don’t belong in the playoffs.

I would point to potential ratings as a reason for OU. But after Alabama got passed over last year, that kind of blows that argument up.

Because the selection process is an absolute joke.

No rankings should be released until all games have been played. It should be done like the NCAA basketball and baseball seedings.

What they are doing is ridiculous.

Other have said whatever reason is some can’t handle the truth .. same reason why Bama should be in imo … they have some of the best wins and played a really hard schedule .

Vandy’s resume isn’t that different from Oklahoma’s except they got dog walked by Bama and didn’t have to play Ol’ Miss.

LSU saw both on the road. Vandy is a much better team and it’s not really close.

They should not release any rankings until after all games are played.

OU should obviously be in but their process is ridiculous.

No other sport does this nonsense.

10-2 SEC beat Alabama at their place(two in a row), as well as Tenn too, Mizoo ,

Lost to an upper mid SEC team in Sexat, and 11-1 Ole Miss SEC.

How are we not a lock. Which team beats that record? Especially in the SEC.

Oh, and Michigan.. beat them too.

Pretty simple.

They are 10-2.

Their losses are not "bad" (9 win Texas and 11 win Ole Miss)
They have some good wins (10 win Bama, 9 win Michigan, 8 win Tennessee, 8 win Mizzou).

They have very little to point at as arguments why they should be out.

They don't have a bad loss like Bama does to FSU or Texas does to Florida.
They aren't lacking in big wins like Notre Dame, BYU, Utah or Miami are.

They basically have Vandy's resume with 2 wins better than the best Vandy has this year and a win over a team Vandy lost to.
