Steamrolled their way to a combined 110 point victory margin over SDSU, Auburn, and Gonzaga.
They are three good teams. Historic asskickings.
For perspective (In the same tournament):
- Gonzaga beat alabama by double digits and Maryland by 39 points
- Auburn beat St. John’s by double digits

They almost lost to Wake and TCU.
They got hot. Basketball is a long season.

Kentucky almost lost to North Carolina that year and did lose their next game to Indiana. They also lost to Vanderbilt in the SEC tournament. Michigan will have a close game here or there and will eventually drop some games.
The majority of the time they are probably going to hammer teams.

2025 UF > 2012 Kentucky
Nobody has ever had a tougher road to a title. Michigan can suck nuts.

2011-12 UK played a Div III team called Transylvania.
Just because a team blows out the barn doesn't mean it's time to crown them the National Champ.
Take a lap.

There are many teams who are going to get better as the season goes along. Teams will get players back from injuries that will improve their teams. Michigan definitely playing like the best/hottest team in these tournament match ups, but they did have some very close calls earlier.

Didn't watch their games - are they a bigger team or more guard based. I know they usually are a bigger team. Hopefully if our guards start hitting shots we can play with a team like them. We like to play a bigger lineup.

They also blew out Gonzaga the next night by 40, and they were ranked higher than AU. It isn't just about the AU win.
If you can't see that Michigan is a legitimate Final 4 team this year, you are just being willfully obtuse. They do not have a weakness that can be exploited, they are just going to have to catch a hot team and have an off night themselves in order to lose.
You take 2 laps.

I remember the 1992 season when I sat down with my Hoosier relative to watch #2 Indiana play #11 UCLA in the basketball season opener. Indiana got crushed . . .the score was closer than it looked. UCLA was after that #2 in the country most of the season behind Duke.
They met up again in the elite 8 and Indiana won by nearly 30 in a total blowout.
I stopped caring at that point about early season lopsided losses as they don't ever seem indicative of anything.

Or they could have gotten really hot for a three day stretch. They also beat a mid Wake by a point and a mid TCU by 4 but it you want to crown them in November feel free.

They are rolling right now for sure.

It’s always important to remember perspective when reading barn basketball posts. They’ve only been fans of the sport for about 7 years. They are very VERY new to this

Bama fans just recently stopped switching to being UK or Duke fans during basketball season so put that in your hard hat and smoke it

Beating Auburn and Gonzaga the way they did sent shockwaves through the college basketball world.
alabama was largely an afterthought of the tournament. Gonzaga made easy work of them.

This.
Michigan is the first men’s college basketball team ever to win back to back games against ranked teams by 30 or more.
