Here is how Lane has fared against some SEC programs.

Alabama 0-5
Georgia 1-2
LSU 3-3 (2-2 against Brian Kelly)
Tennessee 1-0
Florida 1-2 (0-1 against Billy Napier)

Why are schools wanting to spend a record amount to hire a coach who was .500 against the guys they just fired?

So you're saying LSU would be better off not hiring him?

Hype.

LK is viewed as a brash and flashy offensive guru. Big teams think his hype will immediately bring high profile recruits and then the logic follows as "if LK can do that at Ole Miss, he could dominate at a real football school. "

.... And? The logic follows.

If LSU doesn't get Kiffin, I'm sure he'll try to say it was some big miss.

He’s a good coach and many schools would love to have him. The reports that LSU is offering him 16 million a year though is just fricking insane and makes them look like total Cajun idiots.

Kirby is the current highest paid at 13.5 and he’s accomplished just a bit more than Lane in his career. He’s actually won things that matter. Anything at all that matters, which lane has yet to do

I don't necessarily disagree with the concept. It might work out perfectly for LSU or UF. I, for one, am quite glad that AU didn't join the LK circus this time. That's alot of money for someone that's proven as little as he has and the drama that will certainly follow him.

He's already got at least 3 threads spun up, waiting to hit submit.

We're offering him the remainder of Kelly's pay too because we fricking feel like it.

Who do you suggest we hire then? I highly doubt there are many coaches who would have the record that he has at Ole Miss if they were hired by the Rebs.

In his five seasons Lane has won only 4 games over SEC teams with a winning conference record. Brian Kelly also had 4 wins over SEC teams with a winning conference record in his 3+ seasons at LSU. Lane and Ole Dixie has been gifted cakewalk SEC schedules, but Lane knows that's about to end, so he's getting out while the iron's hot before the 7-5 days come back to Oxford.

I think Kiffin is 100% who should hire and committing to 25 million yearly in NIL is going to put yall right at the top with Ohio State Texas and Texas Tech. UGA spends like 17 million I believe.

What I think is really fricking stupid is resetting the coaching market for a guy who hasn’t won shite to the point you’re going to go 2.5 million over the current highest paid coach, who has won multiple national titles and sec championships

I thought he should have been the guy to follow Saban but apparently, he's been blackballed.

I understand LSU's desire to get him but there are no guarantees.

This sport is getting beyond stupid.

What’s Lane’s all time winning percentage vis-a-vis that of the unfairly maligned and financially harmed Brian Kelly?

That has always been THE talking point t for some…

Just go ahead and say that this is scaring you. Your team is so vulnerable right now and you are scared of what will happen next year .
