If he ends up staying, two SEC schools will be stranded without a coach going into the portal and recruiting windows.

I surely hope FL and LSU have backup plans.

The guy is holding programs hostage. If he doesn't want to announce now, I wouldn't hire him.

You want it or you don't.

If I was an Aggie, I’d be laughing at all 3 schools.

With the way our teams look right now (Florida and LSU's), I think we'd both be fine with low expectations for a team next year based on a lapse in recruiting rather than multiple years of misery based upon hiring the wrong coach.

Nothing wrong in finishing the season before you leave. It’s the way it should be, especially if the team has something on the line. If he announces his decision before the season ends, he would be crucified.

Part of this also has to do with the NCAA schedule.

It's not all in Lane. But schools are putting all of their eggs into the basket of a guy that is not loyal or a guarantee.

I agree with Saban that things should be structured more like the NFL windows.

Yup, it’s one of the many things that need to be adjusted with CFB currently.

It applies immense amounts of pressure to all parties involved.

The guy is holding programs hostage.

Does the "Lane Situation" affect recruiting at all three schools?

Is he inadvertently sending kids to other programs as a result of his silence?

Rivals currently has LSU, Florida and Ole Miss at 11, 13 and 20 respectively with 45 total commits.

It is expected it would firm things up at wherever he decides to coach next year but how can the other two even hang on to those they have let alone sign more without a head coach in place?

I'm laughing at us because we got caught in the crossfire.

Yikes. The victim mentality at play here …. is rather special.

“Lane is making us want him this badly! We can’t help it.”

The only school I feel bad for at this time is Lane’s present school, Ole Miss.

LSU and Florida are in this thing by choice.

My gut feeling is that the program that hires Lane will ultimately regret it.

The media similarly pumped up Sun Belt Billy to the point of a sure thing.

He's not holding LSU hostage. They know he's coming.

He's not holding OM hostage. They know he's gone.

He's not holding UF hostage. They know they're out of it.

OM is the big loser. They can't really ramp up a coaching search yet for obvious reasons. By the time they do, their preferred targets will be gone. It's foolish for them to think a Sumrall or a Fisch are going to pick them when they have better options though.

Coach Golding, come on down.

I agree I really don’t see what the big holdup is

if the dude wants to LSU job take it if you want the Florida job take it if you wanna stay at Ole Miss take it say that this is all ridiculous if I was the dude to charge an LSU making the hiring decisions I’ll be like we got to move on to option number 2 if Indeed Ln., Kiffin is option number one

A few years back, a bama fan dragged his nuts across the face of a passed out LSU fan. If Kiffin doesn't go to LSU, is it the equivalent of him dragging his nuts across the entire LSU fanbase?

If I was an Aggie I would be more worried about not doing the norm on a good season than lsu or floridas back up plans

We could write a series of books based on this topic alone.

Hopefully LSU’s learning curve goes up a lot faster than ours did!

The plan to treat the OM fanbase like shite? Sounds great.
