This story certainly validates what many of our butt hurt fans feel.

Is that a good thing that other programs want your coach because your program’s experienced success it’s never had? Or would you rather be 5-6 or 6-5 or something right now and no one wants your coach? I would look at it from that perspective.”

You hear that, you, the Ole Miss fan? It’s a good thing that your head coach won’t commit to remaining with the program that’s 10-1 with a chance to win a National Title. You should shut up and enjoy it while the head coach figures out the best way to leave a place he sees as beneath him.

On Monday, Kiffin appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, indicated that freshman wide receiver Winston Watkins received “three calls from places” after his breakout game at Oklahoma, with other programs essentially asking him to enter the transfer portal. Kiffin called it “pre-portaling” — the new harsh reality of college football’s NIL era. “Our freshman receiver has a good game, Saturday night he’s got 3 calls from places telling him, ‘come here, we’ll give you more money,'” Kiffin said. “Pre-portaling … That’s what happens.”

When I read Brian’s story.. it brought me back to this exchange . Lane then jokingly backtracked and said like oh he’s a bad guy or something to that effect so people wouldn’t want him

So to be clear, it’s bad for your players to be wanted by other programs due to their success but it’s also a great thing that good programs want your coach instead because you’re doing so great and win all the time

Like most everything else, Kiffin can’t have it both ways . He’s a hypocrite .

That's a fantastic writeup. Lane (and Sexton) have spent a ton of time and energy over the years to try to change the narrative on Lane, and what Lane is doing this season has completely thrown all of those efforts into the trash. Rippee is right in that Lane is acting like Ole Miss is beneath him - despite the fact that we are in contention for a title this late into the season and have given him everything he has asked for.

Lane sending him family to both Gainesville and Red Stick was a very public FU to Ole Miss, the fanbase, the administration, the players, and will be nearly impossible to smooth over. If that didn't happen, then the possibility of making amends would be there - but those actions were deliberate and beyond disrespectful. He torpedoed the 2022 season and there's zero chance this hasn't been a distraction to the players and staff.

I still think he would intentionally lose the Egg Bowl to try to avoid the "he abandoned a playoff team" label. He has made this season all about him and he could care less about the players and this school.
