How would he be as a HC? I know you guys aren’t in the coaching changes board for me to ask this over there. It’ll get buried within minutes with LSU HC posts.
He has Arkansas connections and is apparently gaining momentum.

Absolutely horrible. Spare yourself four more years of misery by not hiring him.

He was the South Alabama coach for 3 years:
5-7
10-3
7-6
And then he resigned to become the Alabama DC.

Not sure if he’s much of a program builder but has put together a hell of a defense this year.

If you hire a defensive coach to build your program it’s a bad move in my opinion.

Nick Saban and Kirby Smart were sure busts. Nothing like Lincoln Riley.

Not sure if it’ll happen unless he is the final smokescreen but there’s a lot of fire with him right now.

I personally think you're setting yourself up for failure by not hiring a head coach that is winning games and has 4 or 5 years under his belt. It's hard enough to win games in the SEC with a great coach...but this is no place for learning on the job. The days of hiring coordinators should be over.

Some of the better coaches in the conference would be disqualified with these criteria

Kane got a lot of shite, some deserved, but his unit is what is keeping Bama afloat. I shudder to think who would replace him given that Grubb was supposed to be the savior on offense.
Anyway it was always curious to me that he willingly left a FBS head coaching job to come be a coordinator. Maybe he figured it'd be a better way to get a P4/SEC HC gig.
And can we please STFU about Pruitt? He willingly torpedoed his own career to hitch his wagon to Phil Fulmer. Let him suffer the consequences.
