People will bitch at me for quoting a Yankee, but I don’t care.
Gen. Grant, at his breaking point as far as listening to his staff moan and turn around in the floor about what R.E. Lee was going to do to them, responded, "Oh, I am heartily tired of hearing about what Lee is going to do. Some of you always seem to think he is suddenly going to turn a double somersault, and land in our rear and on both of our flanks at the same time. Go back to your command, and try to think what we are going to do ourselves, instead of what Lee is going to do."
Our fan base gets like Grant’s staff about the Barn when we have to play them in Jordan-Hare.

Understandable given the fact that we needed a miracle play to beat a 7-loss Auburn team (that was blown out by New Mexico State) two years after our Heisman winning QB needed OT to beat another 7-loss Auburn team...

I understand you calling it understandable. I was standing in my living room on Nov. 30, 2013, and saw what happened and said, “You have got to be s**ting me.”
But it seems almost like people are quaking in fear about this game.
Being concerned and cognizant and respectful of the stage and the situation is acceptable, IMO.
Quaking in fear is not.

Okay now find something more present and modern quotes instead of a racist Confederate guy quote.

Grant was leader of the Union Army chief. You're thinking of Robert E. Lee.

Something from civil rights activist David Duke perhaps?

Really explains why we keep on repeating the same mistakes in this nation

Please tell me you’re not an Alabama alum.

Not “afraid” of the Aubs but for some weird reason, Bama always seems really tight/tense when we play at JH. More false starts, offsides, easy passes dropped, just bone headed plays, etc.
The Aubs always come out way more intense. They act like they all shotgunned a gallon of espresso before the game.
I’m hoping CKD can get our guys to play hard but focused.

I’m with you.
I remember them always coming out acting like a bunch of crazed animals for this game 50 years ago, but it’s hard to maintain that for 60 minutes.
And I never thought this post would turn into a history quiz LOL.

Damn right and how about the sorry arse 16th president of Mexico El Abo Lincoln of Ciudad Juárez. Some say he was more racist than Grant.
