Anybody else hearing that Ole Miss gave Kiffin an ultimatum to sign the deal before the Egg Bowl or it's over?

One of their insiders said they were prepared to fire him

I heard this coming Monday was the deadline.

They won't fire him. Just not let him coach the Miss St game.

I don’t believe it was an ultimatum. But a heavy handed nudge would be a more accurate description. Keith doesn’t want Ole Miss without a chair when the music stops. Tough year to be coach searching. There seems so few good candidates out there. I think that js why Lane sent his family to Gainesville and Baton Rouge. If they return and say they can’t live there then he doesn’t have to decide. But hey that’s my opinion. I don’t think he knows what he wants to do.

You don't have to pay him anything to fire him for cause

If Kiffin leaves, he’s taking Chuckles with him.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Let me add one thing. It looks like LSU got their Governor out of the way and they are a player. LSU is a top 5 job. Florida isn’t. Im sure lots of people will argue that but deep down they should know it’s true. You win football games there and you have an entire state behind you with their resources. But the demands are heavy…as they should be.

Ole Miss is in a tough spot. Lane wants to win a NC. He doubts he can win one at Ole Miss or he would have already signed the extension. Basically Ole Miss has proposed marriage and the bride hasn’t committed.
This won’t end well for Ole Miss. the reality is Ole Miss is unlikely to win a NC with Kiffin or anybody else. Kiffin sees a better beaux in BR or Gainesville. He’ll be one of these team’s bride.

LSU is built to win now. It’s a big name program. Of course center of attention Lane Kiffin wants to coach there. And I want him here too.

To be fair, the governor was never in the way, regardless of what happens.
Some people here just overreacted to his grandstanding like emotional women, as usual.

Perhaps. But you seem to know exactly what Kiffin wants for the rest of his life. Funny think is I don’t know if he knows. When a person hits the back nine of their careers their outlooks change. At least mine have.

The Gov assured LA they won't have a 53 million dollar issue again and LSU can't even find the money to pay Kelly and are trying to delay that.

Kiffin is going some where THIS year.
- His value is never going to be higher.
- He has his choice of where to go
To stay would be very stupid of Kiffin if he is wanting to coach elsewhere. If it's even remotely on his mind, now is the time.

Y'all need to keep him for continuity. Trust me.
