Legacy vs. Ego and chance to win.

I think he can win at Mississippi, but these guys have massive egos normal folks like us can't comprehend. So does he want to stay at Mississippi and be in the hunt while getting streets named after him and statues built or does he go to a more "perceived" sure thing school. I say perceived because I don't think Florida or LSU is a sure thing at all.

Then again, the ultimate ego flex would be winning it somewhere that isn't supposed to win. Think Cignetti at Indiana.

Yes, Ole Miss, this is the way. Completely trash the coach that has done the best job in literally eons for you. just leave him the frick alone and let him win you as many games as he can. If he leaves, he leaves, it’s up to him not you. Get the frick over it and just enjoy your season. Could be the last you enjoy in a minute. ;)

I do wonder at what point Ole Miss fans do get fed up with the “will he wont he.” If its not this year then it is when Bama or Texas come open. At a certain point Id get fed up with it. Coaches dont make the schools, schools make the coaches. No one person is bigger than these schools that have been around for 200 years

Fake Ole Miss fans want to force a decision out of Kiffin because they are melting down with uncertainty. The longer Florida/LSU have to wait the more risk of losing their current player to the transfer portal and securing their future HS recruits.

Real Ole Miss fans should just be enjoying the current season, we have a week off to recover, then the Egg Bowl, then the playoffs... still over a month and a half of college football to enjoy while Florida/LSU are cringing every day for news.

Lesson: firing your HC mid-season is an emotional decision, not a logical one... never works out.

Ehh I mean we’ve seen this 3 ring circus absolutely tank the end of a season due to this. Everything is holding together for now but it’s tenuous. It’s the repetitive nature of it and LK hasnt found a way to handle it better

Shhh... Don't let all these idiots realize that Kiff has been playing the long game all this time. All the rumors affect those teams much more than his own. After all, he does have to play them again next year.

He is handling it perfectly. He does not have to give anyone an answer, why would he? He is the current Ole Miss coach and they are on a historic run for the Ole Miss program. His football team and entire athletic department appear to be focus, on the same page, and not distracted by this circus.

Regardless of his decision, Lane will be one of the highest paid HC in college football. The current open HC jobs at these other schools is not a once in a lifetime opportunity, pretty sure these positions HC will open in another 2-4 years.

Look at the Auburn HC position, Lane was in consideration for that job in 2022, it's opened again... thus the Florida/LSU/Alabama/Texas HC jobs will be available in a few years... why rush?

You're ready for a coach that made Ole Miss actually relevant for the first time in its history to leave? Mississippi intelligence.

It would be more fun for Ole Miss fans to enjoy this season without the distractions.

Feel bad for y'all about that.

But congrats on having a coach that is winning so much that other schools want him.

Easy for all of you to say....so you're dating a 10, but she's sending nudes to somebody else. Do you stay with her because she's a 10?

He is waiting for the Texas job. He is not going to LSU. It makes sense: it looks like Sark is on the ropes there, Huge unprecedented guaranteed money if he were to go to Texas, his ego pumped by the highest profile college coaching job in the country, his arrogance would fit right in with the Texas fanbase, he would have the backing and resources that Ole Miss, LSU, Florida, et al can never match.
