what would happen if ATM and UGA both end up with 1 loss; ours to bama and ATM's to Texas?
This assumes bama wins out and the 2nd spot is between the two above

Record vs. common opponents between Texas A&M and Georgia. So Georgia would go to Atlanta.

Here is a scenario calculator:
LINK
If Oklahoma or LSU beat Alabama and Texas beat A&M - it would be Alabama-Georgia for the title.
If the above happens and Texas beat Georgia - it would be Alabama-Ole Miss for the title.
If the above happens and State beat Ole Miss - it would be Alabama-Texas for the title.
Basically Alabama is in the title game in every scenario if they remain unbeaten or lose one.

quote:Assuming Ole Miss wins out as well, Georgia likely goes because their conference opponent win % is higher than the other two.

If you mean for the rest of the season, I would say Texas A&M with two tough road games and Texas have the toughest.

The most likely scenario for the Texas-Alabama matchup
Texas wins out
Alabama beats LSU and Auburn but loses to Oklahoma
Alabama-Ole Miss best scenario
Texas wins out
Ole Miss wins out
Alabama-Georgia best scenario
Georgia wins out
Alabama wins out or just loses one.
I cannot find a scenario where a 1 loss Alabama is not in the SEC CG. Interestingly, if Mississippi State beats Georgia, Ole Miss is in pretty good shape to get to Atlanta.

Why did you start the same thread as me?

Think yours was remaining schedules wasn't it? This is reviewing the entire schedules and strength of them over the whole year.

Ole Miss certainly has the easiest path, but I don't think they control their own destiny. My guess is Bama and A&M, but I hope it's Ole Miss and A&M.

Tbh, I'd kinda prefer to not go to the SECCG. For one I'm tired of losing to alabama, but after seeing what happened last year it kinda boned us health-wise heading into the playoffs.
Far better to be hosting a game in Athens against some power 5 or ACC/Big12 team that has no business being in the playoff than playing in the SEC CG. It'd be nice to repeat as SEC Champs but it is like kissing your cousin - fun but not much more meaningful than that....

Look at the SECCG as a 9th Conf game for 2 teams
Next year everyone plays 9 games and the SECCG will be a 10th Conf game.
It was a mistake to add a 9th game. Unless they increase rosters or players get robotic legs and other parts replacements its not sustainable.
Teams will try and avoid SECCG.

It would take a colossal frick up by A&M and Bama for it not to be them.

I would need to look at it again with the results last week but I think Bama and GA were the teams that would be looking the best for a spot if they have one SEC loss with how the tiebreaker worked and A@M with one SEC loss was the most likely to be left out if there were 3 way ties.
