does not appear he said that at all.

unclear why an ole mis fan, who's definitely not having a really bad time, would have wished that he did though.

awwww.

He’s right. This is exactly what I have been saying.

Unless it’s Texas or OSU where the boosters are willing to buy you any player you want the blue bloods don’t have an advantage anymore. Especially not the ones who are in areas where housing costs are insanely high. Ole Miss is a better job than UF now and it’s comparable to LSU. The only advantage for LSU is recruiting is easier because the Louisiana boys are mostly loyal as long as the collective isn’t stingy with the bag.

He's right, if LSU/Florida are going to meddle and handcuff Lane, he'd be much better off staying in Oxford.

Both have better resources, but if Lane can't use the resources how he wants to, then they do him no good.

Saban also said success depends on how much money you spend on your roster.

Gee... Saban, how would you know that?

Also, it's been mentioned a lot, but with everyone else able to catch up with Bama to pay players, Saban quit because he knew he couldn't keep up.

Probably because he was a coach for multiple years in the NIL era.

Alabama recruiting hasn't dropped. Even right now Alabama is 3rd for the year on 247 with 5 5 star recruits, more than any other school. The only reason they are in 3rd place is because we only have 23 commits right now while 1. USC has 35. #2 Gerogia has 29.

Find another loser cop out.

How could he think we don't want to give like OM? We had the most expensive portal class this year. We were number 1 with 18 players and OM was 4 with 30. This whole statement is garbage if he thinks LSU isn't ready to pony up for the resources like OM does.

Nick isn't knocking LSU. He is just pointing out how much Ole Miss has improved and how under NIL Lane can compete. He has a really good situation and can compete.

I don't think it needs to be debated which is a better job, ole miss or lsu or ole miss or Florida. Yes, lsu and Florida are great jobs. Arguably top 5 , definitely top 10 jobs. All that really matters is the current gap between those jobs and ole miss large enough to leave a place you and your family like and by all accounts a good situation for him. I'd argue ole miss is now a top 20, maybe top 15 job and I just don't know that the gap from the 5th best job and 17fh best job is that great.

I think the point is that Ole Miss will pay same as LSU will pay, plus less booster meddling, less likely to be fired 2 years after winning a national title, or 8th game into the 4th year with a 5-3 record. I am sure by now Kiffin has been informed that LSU is trying to renege on the agreed buyout and trying to force Kelly to settle for much less. That is a great way to attract new coaches.

What he said

“What used to make a job great was facilities, fan support, good academic support, recruiting base and being able to create value for the players. Now that has been minimized to how much money do you have to spend on building a roster."

“Jobs that weren’t great jobs before are now,” Saban said. “Lane is the first name up for Florida and the first name up for LSU, but I think you can have a long debate on whether either one of those jobs is actually better than the job he has now because he has some guys over there at Ole Miss that give him pretty much whatever he wants from a roster standpoint. He may not necessarily have the same thing at Florida or LSU. So you look at these jobs differently now."

You can see what he is saying, if you take off the purple and gold glasses. As many have pointed out, this is not 2009. Modern era.

Add to the factor, the freaking Gov is calling the shots, and he doesn't even know who his AD or President will be.

LK has seen how important it is to have the full support of the AD and President behind you.

Lsu really clustered this whole thing up.

Can you quote him saying neither job was desirable?

I didn’t see it in the tweet.
