If Ole Miss does make the playoffs and the transfer portal opens up not long after

That leaves a lot of schools without a coach waiting on Kiffin.

LSU fans think they will just wait

Florida fans too. Going to be awkward if they are both just waiting for Kiffin to make a decision while everyone with a coach just raids their rosters.

We literally had a kid commit to us while Bk was packing up his shite, if anything, the vibe around our recruits right now is exciting. They know we’re gonna probably bring in a better coach. LSU is gonna be fine. We are not going to hire before the playoffs when there are 12 playoff caliber coaches still out there we could have on our radar. Of course we’re going to wait.

Ah yes, what every recruit wants, a situation where they have no idea who their head coach will be, position coach will be, or whether they even fit the eventual scheme of the new staff.
The kid who just committed had reported offers to Louisiana Tech, Gambling, and McNeese...

Yep. Makes you wonder if Lane is factoring that in as well.
If Ole Miss makes the playoffs, Lane has to consider not leaving.

IMO, those recruits are gonna want to know that we’re making the best hire possible for them. Their future depends on it. We’re not gonna go get some second rate Coach just to make high school and transfer portal players happy…. Who can just leave your team in a second for a bigger bag. F that lol

They're going to want to know who the new coach is before signing. Would you accept a job offer without knowing who your boss will be or how you fit into the structure chart...?

Ole Miss is a better job than LSU anyway.

Bookmark at all you want, you commit to the school not the coach. If they don’t wanna stay then they can F off. We’ll go find other players. It’s really that simple.

If Kiffin stays at Ole Miss, this will be a clear indication that LSU is no longer top destination for coaches.

Not any more, they don't. They commit to the NIL first and if they don't like the situation, they portal out.

Lane trolling LSU into believing he will join them and then doing a 180 last minute would be his masterpiece troll job. We would be telling our grandkids about the Michael Jordan of trolls

Yes, the school with $30m less revenue and less in-state talent per capita, not to mention in-state competition from another SEC school, is a much better job.

Yes, it was a Louisiana kid. Which brings me to my next point, we can always find great talent in the state. And we always will. Oh how horrible it would be for us if we had to rely on that for one season so we could really get our new coach going
