Examples

1) Les is on the hot seat, but they beat the aggies, he gets carried off the field, and get retained
2) coach O beats them by a point at home and gets fired thereafter
3) BK gets rolled by the aggies and they boot his arse within 24 hrs

Because losing to A&M is pitiful and should get you fired

That decision was made at halftime, he was staying either way

He was fired midseason, he just finished out the season

Sounds like they weren't planning on firing him today but they had some kind of dust up

No joke. Why? What was the story at the time?

LSU lost to A&M 3 out of the last 4 years. You gonna fire your coach every year?

It's not the litmus test....it's the straw. He's had ample time, and players to build a solid team - he's underperformed as a coach. Time to cut bait and move on.

The decision to retain Miles was reached during halftime of LSU's game against Texas A&M, according to LSU president F. King Alexander, who added that decision had "pretty much been made" a few days earlier. However, it wasn't until a halftime meeting with athletic director Joe Alleva and members of the LSU Board of Supervisors that the final decision was actually made.

“It was a combination of factors and a decision that we made collectively,” Alexander told Baton Rouge Business Report. “We weighed all the factors in all this and it was a joint decision between many of our board members, our AD and many of us decided this was the wrong time and wrong place (to replace Miles.)

Yes if the next coach has a losing record to A&M he will probably get fired.

Pretty clear

Sorry, they are yours. We have no rivals. Just opponents.

IDK but it’s going to be fun to get their coach fired again in like 4 years.

A successful Texas A&M is unsettling for the programs most directly threatened by it … primarily our nearest recruiting competitors.

The shift in equilibrium results in a sort of threatened panic … and big decisions.

Elko, and Texas A&M, having an unprecedented immediate impact has caused much reevaluation.

Times are changing.

Play A&M early in the season so firings can be blamed on other teams. And we are rivals.

Welp.. they have carried 3 coaches off the field on shoulders after beating A&M at home.

Carry on short pants…
