LSU firing BK is the same as Florida firing Mullen. Grass isn't always greener, and there is no big name coaching candidates on the market right now

And Tenn hasn’t been relevant since the 90’s

Mullen was 5-6 and 5-10 in his last 15 when he was fired.

You don't even have to water grass for it to be greener than Brian Kelly’s lawn.

I know we’ve underperformed, but LSU is a great job. I would say top 5 in the country, probably more likely top 10/15. If they want Kiffin and he decides he wants to leave, I think they get him over Florida

If they have the money they’ll pull a good hire from somewhere.

LSU is a top 5 job. UF is…different.

Apparently the AD was going to be cool with just replacing some assistants as the pound of flesh but Kelly refused so he basically fired himself.

Wouldn't be shocked if Kelly was trying to get fired with that move

Dan Mullen was better than any coach before him not named Spurrier or Meyer and he was better than the coach that folowed him. LSU fans wanted Kelly gone and there is literally nothing else out there besides Kiffin who they arent getting

Choose your coach or NIL. Brokedicks can't have both.

Tell me you haven’t watched LSU play this year without telling me you haven’t watched LSU play this year.

They’ve played 8 games this year and have looked absolutely terrible in every one of them.

Sometimes you can see the writing on the wall and have to cut bait. Regardless of who the next LSU coach is, LSU did the right thing today.

When it gets to that point of the coaching circle of life it’s too toxic to work and it’s better just to cut the cord completely.

I read this from Felder…

I just don’t get the disagreement. The AD got upset that BK wanted to clean house or was it something like he wanted a larger assistant pool with securities?

Like why would Woodward want to protect anyone? It’s always the other way around lol

Not a high bar. But he was awful for a season and a half. He didn't have a 10/11 win season and had basically given up.

Not remotely comparable.

They’ll hire Drinkwitz.

Mullen lost the locker room completely and gave up 52 points to Samford. After losses he had big giant goofy smiles to let everyone know he wanted to be bought out so he was.

There was nothing unique or even interesting about Mullen’s firing other than him having a good record until the Cleat Yeet when 2020 broke his brain.

Theres no candidate that for LSU that makes. They are going to end up getting Drink or someone with a smaller resume than BK had. It makes no sense

BK has botched coordinator hires during his tenure and has boasted about a national championship roster this season and called the fans spoiled. I’m sure the big donors got fed up and said that they are not donating anymore cash unless he walks. It’s not that he lost games, it’s how he lost games. LSU has been complete dogshit this year.

I dislike LSU, but this is a dumb take. It’s win or GTFO. Kelly is a proven loser. Props to LSU for doing the right thing.

Kelly had to be fired. Period.

Who gives a frick about a big name coach. The best coaching hires are a lot of times guys you’d never expect.
