Yeah it’s fun to dogpile LSU but let’s not forget Tennessee

They’re in the same situation except arguably worse since their coach isn’t a walking, talking buttplug of a human being. Hupple does just enough to not get himself in positions like Kelly but doesn’t reach the abyssal lows of Sun Belt Billy.
And for some reason boosters in general are the absolute dumbest people on earth outside of actually making money.
I will FOREVER defend my stance on coaches like Kelly, Franklin and Heupel. It’s best to get their arse out of there when the signs start showing they’ve reached their ceiling. They’re more like parasites than they are winners, especially for programs that have reached the mountain top.

I mean we lost our starting QB in the off-season brought in a new one who barely had any time at all (no spring), lost our starting corners and key secondary players and are still doing pretty well.

Bama has been laughing at LSU since the day BK was hired. He was the longest tenured FBS coach who had won nothing, by a very large margin. He’s done exactly what his record showed he’d do at LSU and even LSU fans would have seen it much sooner without the fluke OT win over Bama with a Heisman QB (and one of the most obvious block in the back missed calls on the winning play). LSU made an unwise choice in AD, who made an unwise choice in HC.
Bama fans have not been laughing at the Heupel hire. It was a good hire and he’s a good coach, especially for where UT was. Their teams play hard, physical football now. BK always was a joke, Heup isn’t a joke, unfortunately (Freeze is tho, so at least 1 of our 2 rivals has a joke coach).

LSU was just removed from a natty when they hired Kelly. Tennessee was a pile of dog poop and facing sanctions when we hired Heupel. Heupel is fine.

Franklin's already gone, Heupel isn't going anywhere soon except maybe the cath lab at the hospital, and Kelly won't quit, no one else will take him away, and they can't afford to fire him
Besides, seems like slim pickings for good coaches this year - who's currently or soon-to-be available that would be an improvement?

Pretty stupid take. We were an embarrassment for most of the 2010s. Heup shows up and we are consistently in the top 15 and in playoff contention. There are a lot of teams worse off than the Vols.
