Just asked about and commented at his Monday afternoon PC:

“It is absolutely hilarious. It is a waste of brain space to spend any time talking with me about any of that stupidity.”

Is it stupid because he doesn’t want the job or it’s stupid because it’s obvious that he wants it?

That’s not how it came across. It was more like he was flabbergasted that he was even being asked about it.

Elko knows that the 12th Man staged a coup to deny Mark Stoops and to bring him in.

He wouldn't, but Jimmy Sexton sure would like the A&M AD to think it is a possibility to get Elko a huge raise/extension and lock in another bad contract for A&M.

His agent (who I'm pretty certain is not Jimmy Sexton) would certainly like it.

They always seem to chuckle it off as ludicrous when they know already their agent has a deal cut. This ain't hard.

Isn't he from Pennsylvania or something? I guess that could be a factor, but Penn St as a job isn't a step up.
