Smart move by his agent. Get it during a busy coaching search with some high profile jobs looking for coaches. Much more leverage.

He better get a big buyout or it will be all for nothing but Kiffin a bigger raise in a few months.

I don't think he wants to live Ole Miss. He'll get this payday and then coach out his career here.
FL can weep...he aint going to FL

I mean... seriously... why on God's green earth would he go to the University of Florida. It's laughable on it's face.

Why does he need a new contract if he loves Ole Miss so much? He’s already very high paid.
These schools are dumb and continually get bent over by Sexton.

1. If paid more money?
2. B/C Gators have slightly easier permanent schedule than Ole Miss?
Gators = Georgia Kentucky and South Carolina
Ole Miss = LSU, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma?
3. B/C Florida Recruiting 2026 = #13 with 90.969 score is slightly better than Ole Miss Recruiting 2026 = #20 with 89.283 score?
4. More skank available statistically?
Not much there really- IDK maybe #1

He isn't going to work sign it until he sees what HC openings are available with a bigger payday than Ole miss can afford

I think he’d kill to have another shot in the NFL. Other than that there’s probably like 3-5 significantly better college jobs he’d leave for. I don’t think it’s worth the perceived benefits to go to a marginally better job and deal with meddling administrators and delusional fan bases that demand you get fired for having a bad season.

We can pay him as much as anybody. He’s got the top to bottom administration that he needs to win and probably wouldn’t want to have to rebuild in that area. And Oxford is just great. Very few people want to leave there. Ole Miss and State do have the contract length issue to work around though. But I really believe his next job is in the nfl.

My favorite part of the yearly “Lane will come here if we want him!” Is the absolutely pussified way the fans of those schools refuse to actually say “we want him and he will be here”. It gives them the same exact out of “well we didn’t really want him and our guy is TOTES” better”

Have to admit, it’d be hysterical for his agent to leverage openings for a massive raise, and then he somehow drops 3 games to miss the playoffs.
