The best up and coming coach in the country is at South Florida right now and is 5-1 with his only loss being to Miami.

Franklin is a cowardly safe hire by any real program and sends the message that they aren't actually serious about trying to win a real championship and are settling for a Mark Richt type of trajectory instead.

It would be a great hire for Arky but UF......come on now. You guys can do better than effin James Franklin.

We aren't likely to go after Franklin. Y'all can have him.

UF hiring Franklin would be hilarious and perfect. He’d be perennially 8-9 wins in the SEC and we’d never lose to them again. Do it gators!

Can they? Have you seen their recent hires? Their last good coaching hire was in 2005 and he quit after 5 years because the job almost killed him.

Like 95% of the teams in the country would kill to go 10-2 and make the playoffs every season

Firing Billy for not being able to win big games to go after Franklin seems like a really good idea.

Well, it was the other people who were killed by the team that led him to quit I think.

honestly would be a good hire for a school like UNC to stabilize them for awhile

Issue with Billy isn't that he doesn't win big games. Issue is he doesn't win any games.

He'd probably be a good hire for a lot of places.

He's an 8-9 win a season guy no matter where he coaches and his 3 years at Vandy were the best 3 consecutive seasons they've had since the end of WW2.

If you think you're a legitimate title contender, he's not your guy - but if your goal is to win more than you lose and make a lot of bowl games he should be on your short list.

Virginia Tech and James Franklin are a match made in heaven. Florida isn't the place for someone who struggles with big games.

Let's hire the guy who shits the bed like clockwork against any team worth a damn and couldn't develop a QB to save his life, but give him an even more difficult schedule. Surely it'll work.

Yeah, that’s true. And actually Billy is 3-1 against top 10 teams in the swamp. If anything he has far overachieved on his big games compared to the standard fare he serves up for non-big games.

Although when you have Florida’s record the last four seasons I’m not sure you can say anything is a “big game.” The season is always over in September.
