ZOU

I'm still jazzed as shite about this team, but there are improvements that need to be made.

Offensive play calling terrible. Beau playing tight, holding ball, not trusting his throws. Even with all that, played a top 10 team with a chance to win/tie with a minute to go.

No more G5 coordinators. Need guys with big game experience. Moore is an issue. Hardy and Schrader covered it up, but he is a marginal game caller at best.

Not that far.

Just disappointed in the play calling and that Beau played scared.

I don’t like Cook, but he would have won that game. I am disappointed in Pribula. The last pass was terrible.

Hardy only had 12 carries he should have had 20 to 25 carries

Defense played good enough to win

You forget Cook threw an interception vs LSU and at UGA on the game winning drives. He cost that team a legit chance at a Natty. Pribula just following in his footsteps is all. Same QB coach, same result.

Beau didn’t play well but I don’t think our play calling helps him. Whether it’s Drink or Kirby dictating we are very conservative. As mentioned in broadcast, we don’t take many shots over 20 yards. Easier on defensive secondary if you only worry about what’s in front of you. Puts more pressure on run game and qb. Need to be taking deep shots to #1 and #2. Loosen things up.

Olugbode needs to be out there. He's the best route runner. Johnson has changed his game to short routes. Manning doesn't have the route running or speed to be a deep threat. Olugbode is all we have for a deep threat.

Pribula should have had 3 picks. He was lucky on the fumble and the almost pick.

He looked confused on some of the routes the receivers were running. It could have been Bama’s defense

He did not look like a top 10 SEC QB.

Ty Simpson made some great throws to win that game.

Our passing game needs some work but I still saw some good throws from Beau. He made some bad throws but there is potential there.

He made some important plays with his legs today to.

Great second half defense. Good adjustments and great effort all game long.

SEC refs continue to disappoint. ABC announcers are worse.

Pribula is a good QB. We needed a really good QB today.

Roberts should have had more touches.

Lots of questions left by the game

Why did we act scared to run left all game?

Why did it take 58 minutes to throw a ball to Olugbode?

When did M. Johnson quit as a deep threat?

Navynuke thought seam routes would be a good way to attack Bama. Those led to 2 of the interceptions.
First one looked like Pribula and Manning were running different plays. Second one, Olugbode turned his head a step or two too late and did not reach for the pass.

Why did we quit targeting Norfleet?

Does it look to anyone else that Pribula does not see much of the field on pass plays?

Did Bama completely take away our crossing routes? Coleman barely had any touches.

Will MU start using the extremely effective tackle block Bama used multiple times on us???

The TV coverage was awful.

The announcers frequently didn’t even know what was happening on the field.

ABC was trying to squeeze in so many commercials that they didn’t have time to even tell you if a play was upheld or reviewed or anything.

Bama has good DB’s. Jackson, Hubbard, Downs, and Sabb will probably get drafted this Spring . Theirbest CB not eligible for the draft and the freshman that almost got the pick was pretty good. That’s why it was a pretty good idea to run the ball.

We had 28 passing plays and 28 running plays. Should have had 43 rushing plays and 13 passing plays.

It's just sad because he was still breaking tackles.

OC's get scared when it's 2nd and 8. With this QB and OL they need to lean into the running game more than ever.

Good questions.

I wonder also. It is Johnson's trademark to track those long balls like a center fielder and get under it for the catch. That play should be tried at least once per half or quarter imo. .

Does he make those throws right on the money during practice? Maybe as a 1st year starter he was amped up and overthrew the ball for the interceptions. If he is not good at those throws don't have him make them.

I may be wrong but I think I have seen him go through progressions and make plays before. Did Alabama confuse him?

Alabama recruits in the top 5 every year so they have great athletes all over the field. We have good athletes too. They have not played against a team like Alabama yet this season though.

I hope the game provides a learning experience dividend somehow for the team. A great opportunity to beat Alabama was missed Saturday.

That was Coleman, not Manning. If Beau actually puts that ball on the seam and deep its a TD. The Boundary safety that picked the ball off started to sit down watching Johnson and the safety on Coleman had no shot at making up the ground.

That ball needed to be knifed inside the hash to lead Olugbode away from coverage. He sailed it instead.

On a day when the offense needed him to be great, he was not.

The challenge is to not let Bama beat them twice because next week isnt going to be any easier.

Nuke ... Are you in agreement that Moore needs to redesign his play calling to get Pribula outside the pocket and then simplify his reads to half the field? When he's in the pocket he looks completely overwhelmed and panicky.

Use heavy play action and get him into space with a run-pass option, then let him cook.
