Additional context: Currently cheap 6.75M salary with a 15M buyout.

8-4=safe
7-5=?
6-6=fired?

7-5 with additional losses to Alabama, Georgia, Missouri. Additional Wins Vandy, Kentucky, Mercer, Arkansas.

Does he get fired? Asking.

He can lose the rest and he'll still have next season. That's probably it though.

I would think with a L to UGA this weekend he is on the hot seat and will not have much margin for error through the Mizzou, Vandy, UK, Arky stretch. A win vs. UGA may buy him some more time.

I think he is safe at 7-5. As long as he does not get torched by both Georgia and Alabama. If they both torch him, he’s out at that record. Gotta make em close.

I think 7-5 gets him one more year provided the other 3 of the 5 losses are competitive. 6-6 gets him fired IMO.

You have to throw out the record books when Auburn and Mercer get together.

I don’t think any coach losing to UGA is the deciding factor in putting them on the hot seat.

He's already on the hot seat. Most people didn't like the hire, he's been an abject failure, he's embarrassing on and off the field and I'm only talking about his time at Auburn.

It puts him at 3-3 with no margin of error through the "easy" stretch of the schedule. So the heat will be getting relatively hot. If he loses one of the games in the that stretch, then he is likely fired. However, a win v. UGA will quiet things down a bit.

Nah, he can lose to UGA, Bama, Missouri and still survive.

He loses to Vandy too and it’s going to be real close. Though he could still survive if all the losses were close.

I dont see how you can NOT fire the guy at the end of the season regardless of what happens at this point.

Only 3 that are winnable....Kentucky, Arky, and Mercer....assuming they lose all others....he has to win these 3.

Other Auburn fans will not like this, but barring a 4-8 type of record I don’t think there is any chance Freeze gets fired after this season.

We already played our “Quick Fire” card against Harsin after two seasons. You just can’t fire a third coach in six seasons for performance reasons. To the best of my knowledge, that just doesn’t happen and has never happened at a major program.

And to do that would make Auburn a bigger laughing stock than we already are in the eyes of the media. If we thought the list of quality, realistic candidates was small last time…. Imagine how short the list would be next time of people dumb enough to take the job.

Freeze will still be our coach next season unless he he goes worse than 5-7 IMO.

Auburn is better than we all expected. Freeze is fine barring a late season collapse.

Auburn would be 5th best team in the B1G.

I think Freeze is Cohen’s guy. Cohen will run interference for him.

No, they aren’t. There were lots of people expecting Auburn to win at least 8 games. Some predicted them as a darkhorse playoff contender. This is year three for Freeze and they have spent a shitpile of money on players. They have a top 20 roster. Most everyone expected them to be noticeably better.

Instead we are arguing about whether they will even have a winning record.
