Nothing strikes fear in the hearts of defensive coordinators like the name Kent Austin

Surely you don't think that Kent Austin is calling plays?

Lashlee’s team is averaging 6.2 yards per play and is #44 in FBS overall

AU averages 5.3 and is #98

adding insult to injury, Gustav’s team averages 7.5 ypp and is #9

Gus would win 10 games with this roster...... However, his shitty recruiting would never have landed a roster like this (in his later years) So it's all a wash

He’s the QB coach, which so happens to be the worst position on the team since he’s arrived.

I remember what Al Borges did for Jason Campbell. QB coaching matters.

I was unaware Gus has a team. Last I checked after being fired from Auburn he took a G5 team that was rolling and ran them into the ground. He “retired” before being fired.

He is the OC. That is Mike Norvells team. But I get romanticizing a former loved coach.

Norvels team that was 2-10 last year with a offense ranked in the 150's

What changed this year?

You mean the 6-4 team that he took to 2 consecutive 9 win seasons before that program made a major conference jump?

Come on man. You are better than this

He is Freeze's yes-man, and this is Freeze's offense with Freeze ultimately calling the plays. Therefore replacing the yes-man QB coach does what, exactly? You literally saw this same song and dance with late-term Malzahn: it didn't matter who his WR coach or QB coach was, the players at those positions always looked the same.

Thornton's OL was also MUCH better when he was at Ole Miss in Lane Kiffin's offense. I don't remember their OL racking up 10 sacks and 10 penalties a game.

He took a UCF team that was scoring 40+ PPG under Heupel and almost immediately ~halved it; turning them into a defense-dependent team that could only grind out slop-fest wins (basically the exact product as his last few years at Auburn). Very impressive for an "offensive mastermind" HC.

The QB mainly. Funny what a competent qb can do.

You seriously going to suggest he was on good terms at UCF and didn’t see the writing on the wall?

Or that a HC of a P5 team just steps down to be an OC of another team because he or anyone for that matter feels the program is headed in the right direction?

Gus was great for us until he wasn’t. And he wasn’t exactly great other than a few years.

I remember ole 4 loss Gus for what he was/is
