Already with five SEC road games next season that will see the Tigers travel to Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Tennessee, Auburn is expected to have a sixth game away from Jordan-Hare Stadium with the Baylor game moving to Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium as the Aflac Kickoff Game for 2026. The game is set to be played on Saturday, Sept. 5. This will count as Auburn's home game as part of the series with the Bears.

quote:

"Any time we have the ability to advance Auburn student-athletes' ability to earn third-party NIL compensation, we will take that opportunity," said Auburn Athletics Director John Cohen. "The exposure of playing on a national stage against a Power Four opponent in one of the premier neutral-site games in the country will not only benefit our student-athletes financially, but it will also enhance their brands. This is not only a win for Auburn student-athletes but for Auburn Athletics."

It's a major loss for local Auburn businesses.

Get fricked Cohen. Home slate for next year blows. Florida and LSU are basically it. We better be printing NIL money to do this move.

So, our home game schedule will consist of Southern Miss, Jax State, Vandy, Arkansas, Florida, and LSU? Awesome. Sounds great.

What can be monetized, will be monetized.

Will there be “Stepford” white tent tailgating in ATL?

Will we sell our helmet logo to a corporation for this game?

If this counts as a home game, will us season ticket holders get tickets?

This sucks. I hate it for the local businesses and the season ticket holders. However in this day and age, I’m sure it’s tough for an AD to look at the demands for NIL and figure out how to come up with the money.

I also hate to say this, but the fans screaming to pay more buyouts and fire the entire staff are probably making the AD think there’s not enough money to do that and fund NIL if we get to that point.

At the end of the day, all this money has to come from somewhere.

Nope. Auburn will be allotted 20k tickets, Baylor gets 3k. The rest go on open market/corporate sponsors.

Maybe, but we are in the position we are in because of the AD. So f him for screwing everybody else over because he's incompetent.

Bad product for the better part of a decade, looking very iffy this year, unpopular head coach...again, Bruce retires and they screw the season ticket holders?

Yeah, I'm not terribly impressed with Cohen. I remember when everyone said we'd miss Lowder "running the show". I'm beginning to think they were right.

Stupid... we already had a weak home schedule. Now we have the following at home.... Vandy, Arkie, Florida, LSU. Will folks spend for this weak slate. Empty seats in our future.

27 is strong with Bama, Georgia, USC, TAMU and Oklahoma..

First... what a completely idiotic thing to do. Cohen just voluntarily threw himself onto the hot seat with fans lol. Just all time dumb to do something like this right now. At least if we we're winning it would be slightly easier to stomach. Would still be bullshite, but it would taste a little better.

Second.. I don't support bullshite like this at all. Takes away a game from home fans, doesn't lower the cost of tickets, lose out on home field advantage and just the atmosphere from being in JHS. The ONLY way I will ever support a move like this if is ALL home game tickets are free, and since that's never happening, I'll never support it.

Its probably too late to cancel this one, but if it happens again I will be right next to everyone else calling for peoples jobs. And if it keeps happening and no one loses jobs.. then I guess at that point it might be time to find another hobby.

They will definitely NOT be included in your season ticket package but usually, in these cases, season ticket holders will get priority on ordering those seats (usually only two) before the general public. And your Tigers Unlimited Fund (TUF) level will determine priority among orders by the season ticket holders. At least that’s the way they’ve done it in the past.

Auburn averaged 6.7 million in PROFIT per home game in 2024

The AFLAC kickoff game pays out 5-6 million per team

Doesn’t seem to make sense at all
