This is the most perplexing season I can remember

… in terms of trying to figure out who is good and who is not. At least since 2007.
First off, I think every single team in the SEC is capable of beating each other. This is evidenced by the fact that both Kentucky and Arkansas… arguably the two worst teams… played the team currently at the top of the standings to within a touchdown.
Secondly, I don’t ever remember such disparity in SOS five weeks into the season like we’ve seen this year. According to FEI, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Auburn have played the #2, #4, and #5 toughest schedules in the nation thus far. Meanwhile, Missouri, Vandy, and Texas’ SOS are rated #55, #77, and #102 (!) respectively by the same metric. Vandy and Mizzou have looked great early on, but for all we know they could be 7-5 teams fully taking advantage of getting their easy games all up front.
The third oddity is that so many teams have looked kinda like garbage at times this year, yet against OOC opponents the SEC is on pace to have one of its most impressive seasons in a very long time.
I think beginning next season, we’ll avoid this type of confusion this late in the season. Going to 9 conference games and ten P4 games is going to make it harder for teams to hide behind easy schedules six weeks into the year.

portal and pay for play will continue to drive parity

There will be zero "easy" schedules in either half of the season going forward.

It isn’t rocket science.
SC & Ole Miss have both played 3 SEC games.
Auburn has played 2 SEC games against Top 10 teams.
Mizzou and Vandy have both played 1 SEC game against South Carolina.
Texas has played 0 SEC games.
Do you see the correlation? Read it again until you do.

Goodness. You are the most corrosive, insecure poster on the rant. Are you capable of having intelligent conversations about football without being so toxic?

I agree with the sentiment of the post. However, I think even quality of play against mediocre or below average teams can tell you some things.

Hmmm. Not so sure LSU can beat Ole Miss. We'll have to wait and see if they can do it next year.

Exactly. I understand Mizzou’s just playing the schedule they were given, so it’s not their fault. But not playing a team that is probably Top 40 in the country until Week 7 is crazy. I don’t think that will be possible starting next year with the new format.

So let me get this straight.
Using Facts = Retard
Spewing bullshite = Einstein
Biting the pillow = Healthy
Calling out bullshite = Toxic

yeh those 6 point blowouts at home have a way of showing how one team can't beat another huh

Can't help it but we warned you.
He is defensive because they had the easiest schedule in the SEC last year while the SEC was down and now it is the same schedule but now they have to travel this year.
In 2024, Trans U had to travel to Arky, Vandy, and A&M. Oh, the horror! They have only played THREE road games since joining the SEC (excluding OK in Dallas).
This year is the same schedule but they have to travel more. in 2025, they travel to the swamp, Kentucky, MS State, and Georgia.

In a word, "No." No he isn't. Some people are just a-holes in life, and it translates seamlessly through the internet.

And also a shittier product as better players will not remain in the same system.

If someone before the year told me we went to overtime with State I’d have said there’s no way in hell we’d have taken Georgia to overtime. Everyone except for Kentucky looks capable of being dangerous on their day this year

LSU got dominated by Ole Miss at every level. Refs kept the game close.

I think it shows the lack of coaching. Saban is gone. Urban is gone. Good coordinators go pro more often now.
NIL is effecting it, but most of the top coaches in the SEC are equals now.
