While it was beyond time for Sam to go, he took a radioactive job and restored some life to the program.
By all accounts a good if not great person. Thank you for the good times.

I'll always appreciate Sam for that win against Texas in 2021. Great for the fans after Chaggy

The admin hired a guy that loved the razorbacks knowing he would be in over his head.
I firmly believe Pittboss did the best he could and any anger should be directed at our admin.

I would have joined in if he retired last year. He didn’t, so frick him.

I appreciate the fact he's gone.
Once he hired Sexton he was dead to me.

I'd be all for this if not for the Jimmy Sexton move at the end of 2021, and slowly undoing all his good grace over the next three and a half seasons while getting increasingly snippy and pissy at people who had the gall to notice he wasn't very good at his job. And remember how he left the first time? frick Bert, but I saw Sam Pittman at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Wedington wearing a Georgia polo before he left town. That's a true story and I honestly loved it at the time and I still love it out of context, because there's nothing more satisfying than a good frick you to a job you don't like anymore. Wear the uniform of the next job around town to let motherfrickers know you don't need 'em, especially when you're working for a guy like Bielema was at the time.
But that's who he is at the end of the day. I'm mostly over treating sports mercenaries like their feelings matter and that the aw shucks good ole boy act means anything. He and his wife can go bra shopping together and he'll be just another shitty decision our shitty administration made.

I was beyond done with him as a head coach and I wasn't a big fan of the Sexton stuff, but he's got free beer on me if I ever run into him. Seems like a genuinely good guy that gave a shite about the program.

I don't blame Sam. We hired a career position coach and expected him to compete for the SEC. Why?
Pittman may have done better before the portal/NIL era, but he wasn't the guy for this era.

He wasn't hired with the expectations of competing for titles.
He was hired with expectations of having teams will good line play and a blue collar work ethic to compete hard during all games.
He failed at what he was hired to do.

I understand but I think he saw a chance to make a lot of $ off our incompetent admin and took it. Not many would turn down a chance to make millions.
Also without Pittman it could be argued Petrino wouldn’t be here. Depending on your view of Petrino that could be a good or bad thing.

He lost all his coaching hunger and zest when he got the new contract. Just immediately changed and it was obvious. Strange.
Yurapussy really fricked that up. Pittman stated numerous times he's not going anywhere and that this would be his last job. Yurapussy then proceeds to give him stupid buyout money and reward him handsomely for simply making a bowl (any bowl). There were other incentives in the contract that rewarded Pittman and hamstrung the program for simply being barely mediocre.
Once again, our administration fricks things up.

Yep
Left his agent who was responsible for landing him his first head coaching gig ever.
We do not owe appreciation to Pittman, anyone with a brain would take a job for 4 million a year.

I don’t fault him for that, but all this honorable man talk is bullshite.

As I've said before, as a man Sam appears to be above reproach and has all the integrity one can ask for. As a coach he just didn't have what it takes for the Hogs and the SEC.

While I’m grateful he took the job knowing Hunter is about 10 years behind on his thoughts on NIL/contracts, as soon as he tasted HC money and wanted to “play the game” with Sexton/getting as much money as possible, he stopped being a lovable uncle/grandpa coming in to save the program at a time of need and just another coach.
Ideally he would have stepped down after 2023/24 when it was clear he couldn’t take the program any further and would have left it in a far spot than when he got it. But now he’s been forced to leave after putting out one of the worst defenses I’ve ever seen at Arkansas and there’s a good chance we go 2-10/3-9 and undo a lot of the good he did for the program.

I always liked Sam. Yes it was time to go, no question about it. I was thrilled when Chad was let go. He provided ZERO good times. Sam provided a handful and for that, I'm grateful. Let's go find us a good coach.

He should've been fired two years ago, but Yuracuck.
Enjoy those Kobeers on the Lake with those extra millions Sam.

Hell yeah Sam did great! He was smart enough to get the gig when no one wanted it and I assume will have made at least 30 million in 6 yrs for the retirement account. Nicely done.

You say it in a lot kinder way than me.
I cannot stand half our fanbase that thinks we owe the dude some kind of thanks/gratitude/etc.
No, please take your millions you syphoned from a naive AD and BOT and go gamble it all at Oaklawn.
