By doing this he is skirting responsibility. He’s passing it on to the masses instead of owning it. Classic narcissist

Finebaum needs to own being a ring leader of anointing Arch Manning.

No disrespect to the young man, but all players must perform on the field and should be rated accordingly. But Grandad is right, Arch will not be in the NFL next year.

His main job is to keep his flock riled up, as he sits back in his chair, yanking his simpletons chains...pitting one against the other. He is not brilliant, he doesn't have to be with that bunch.

An absolutely perfect summary.

That wormy little pissant. Example of him: He everyone, bama is the best team ever, there is no doubt they will be in the National Championship game and they will probably win.

Bama throws up on itself first game: I cannot believe all these folks went so overboard on bama. They really jumped the gun annointing them the kings of college football.

Who cares what Finebaum thinks.

These "analysts" love making radical takes because it stirs up conversation and gets "clicks"

If the guy has never played or coached at a high level it for multiple years, you probably shouldn't listen to them.

The media has realized outrageous takes lead to higher traffic and takes less effort in doing so.

Arch isn't very good right now. He's inexperienced but you see flashes.. will those flashes become more consistent? Maybe, but don't bank on it happening this year.

They all do this.

Make all their predictions and then at some point (when they and others missed the mark) call out everyone for being completely off.

Not saying go easy on Finebaum but just saying they're all as stupid as Finebaum which is not good company to be in.

“I have been leading the parade on Arch Manning, we all know that. I'm backing up a little bit," Finebaum said on First Take Tuesday. "... The bottom line is Arch Manning is not playing like an elite quarterback. He’s barely playing like a pedestrian quarterback. He had some good plays (vs. SJSU), but that game doesn’t mean anything. Ultimately, I think we all jumped the gun

Sounds like he is owning it

You really think people who have played at a high level knows more? Coached? Yes. Played…no way. Some of the least knowledgeable are people who played. You can be a student of the game and have great insight and be an average or below athlete.

Finebaum has always been the worst part of his own program. If it weren't for the lunatic callers he has allowed onto his show over the years, no one would know his name.

I think UGA dodged a bullet with Arch. The sideshow is stunning.

In fairness to him, no ody would live upto this level of hype.

I believe majority of players that played at a high level would know more about football than Finebaum, yes.

Am I speaking for every player ever? No of course not, we both know that there's absolute low IQ guys out there but I bet you even they know more about football than your Stephen A., Finebaum personalities who scream outrageous takes for the sake of clicks and so we can talk about them like we are right now.

Who do you know currently that gets in front of a camera with a decent audience that played at a high level in their sport and knows less about the sport than Finebaum.

Finebaum always gonna Finebaum..

There are thousands of intelligent southerners, who know ball, that he could prop up on that show. However, he chooses the lowest common denominator from every fan base, and seems to revel in embarrassing the south.

frick that guy.

It’s similar to the pundit class spending months dumping gas on a coach’s hot seat (often deservedly), but when the axe falls, they act like fans have insane expectations and they are the voice of reason. There’s a word for that.
