I've tried to find the goal line stand. Somehow ESPN left it off of their 15 minute highlight reel.

Thanks! That can be a program-defining moment.

It can be a turning point, that's for sure. Still think the schedule is too much this season but they could fight to 6-6.

I was rooting hard. I can’t believe ASUs coach played that aggressive.

Miss State, current Big12 Champ

Definitely interesting to see a goal post that disassembles so easily

If the blitzing corner doesn't get tangled with the slot receiver, he most likely gets to Shapen or rushes a throw. Not a horrible play call there.

We’re still barely treading water. Now that we have lost Will Whitson for the season, I will be shocked if we get 5 wins. He was the only disrupter we had on the DL and was a huge reason why we did so much better in the 1st half against ASU.

I'm old - I was at Mizzou in 1990 - we were living a self imposed hell by not investing in anything related to athletics at that time. We beat a ranked team early that year. We rushed the field, tore down the goal post, carried it to Harpo's and cut it to pieces, a friend of mine even still has about a 10" section of that thing (the goal posts were white back then). Didn't change squat for us. Who was that (over)ranked team??? you guessed it, Arizona State (they were ranked somewhere around 20th).
We settled back into hell, and continued to dwell there until the late 90s/early 2000s. I hope it's different for State, I really do - but beating one over ranked opponent early in the year isn't necessarily going to be a turning point.

Man I was happy as hell to see them get that W. Picked them to win before the game.

Something Mizzou never got close to

I'm older... I went to the OU-Mizzou game in 1990... We laid a pretty good beatdown on the Tigers... but enjoyed Harpo's and the Field House afterwards. I remember watching Nebraska and Colorado while at those two establishments.
People dog Mizzou a lot on here but it is a fun trip.

Maybe. I see things in our players in that video, the team has energy and good leadership and want to win. They’re there for the love of the game. That can be more important in the era of NIL where a lot of superstar players on blue blood teams are there simply for the money. That makes them prone to upsets, if we play harder we can win some games we normally shouldn’t against superior talent.
It’s good we have two cupcakes before we start SEC play. Should be 4-0 with momentum, likely ranked, and have time to fix issues and team to gel. That could be big for us

I was a Sophmore that year at Mizzou. I remember the Arizona State game well.

The sad truth is if State merely goes 4-8 (which is the minimum they should get to now), it’s not a good season but it doubles last year’s win total.
I think most of our fans realize this team’s ceiling is still limited. But they are clearly much improved over last year.
Take care of business in the next two and we should have another great crowd for the Tennessee game at home. I don’t know how winnable that game is, but I’d like to think State can hopefully at least have a competent showing.
My gut says they find a way to get to 5 wins before the Egg Bowl, and then all bets are off for that one. But I do view the EB as winnable for State this year.

Harpos and Field House still there - and still fun (although the old part makes Field House feel like another planet now). I was probably at the OU/MU game too - I don't recall the score - but I'd guess OU won by over 5 touchdowns. Big 8 Basketball was a lot more fun in those days.
