Georgia fans, why did Carson Beck leave?

I mean, he got injured and it killed his draft chances last year, otherwise I suspect he would have gone pro and maybe get drafted pretty high (point of reference, my Saints took Shough in the 2nd rd. I think Beck goes higher than him).
But why go to Miami instead of returning to Georgia?
Before the injury, he was the clear #1, and he looks healthy at Miami. UGA has to have the funds to retain their QB if they wanted.
UGA is the better program.
UGA didn't have an "Arch" waiting to take his spot.
I know there was some drama, with the instagram ho being his girlfriend. But was it enough that you basically tell him to move on, or was it because he was not happy there?

Carson Beck transferred from Georgia to Miami after receiving a significant Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal, with On3 reporting the deal is for at least $3 million, and potentially up to $6 million with incentives, for his quarterback position with the Miami Hurricanes. The deal was considered a "massive NIL offer" to secure him as Miami's quarterback after he opted against the 2025 NFL Draft.

The eternal two reasons... Money and pussy.
He still has the money, but the girlfriend dumped him.

Only Carson knows for sure. I choose not to spend time or energy dwelling on it. I wish the best for him unless he’s playing against UGA.

I don't blame him. When I was in my early 20s and someone offered me $3 million for one year, I would have jumped at the chance.

Money
UGA has plenty of money too, and a Top 5 program. You might technically offer a bit more, but UGA can stay in the ballpark, and have enough other perks to keep him.
Look at Nussmeier... I'm sure somebody could offer more than LSU, but he's been there, it's his team and should be very good, LSU will keep it close enough that you don't get your starting QB poached.
SEC teams are the tier that poaches other teams' players, not have their own taken. Not key players at least, I know you might see guys leave when they don't beat out a crowded field at their position group (WR, etc).

Not sure about his draft stock. If I had to guess, he got a 4th+ eval from the NFL. He doesn't have a rocket arm and doesn't perform particularly well under pressure. UGA passing game significantly fell last year when he didn't have the best TE in college football and a good NFL receiver as his safety blankets.
Now, of course, his OC is Mike Bobo so how much is his fault remains to be seen.

Some of the scuttle was that he essentially went no contact with the staff not long after the SECCG because he assumed he was done and would go into the draft.
When realizing the injury was going to hamper draft stock too much, I think it was just too far gone and it became a mutual parting of ways.

His personality and demeanor seem to fit Miami better, honestly. He's kind of a flashy guy, and that plays better in Coral Gables than it does Athens.

I could see him maybe playing the string out waiting for the draft, and then the injury screwing that up- he'd burnt some bridges at that point, and was unwilling to go back.

Being able to stay in the ballpark on money and being willing to do so aren’t the same thing.
It’s highly possible that UGA thought its money was better spent elsewhere.
Schools with rosters like UGA have a lot of mouths to feed.

Miami offered him more than Georgia was paying him. Georgia decided Gunner was a good enough replacement and the $3-6 million it was going to cost to retain Beck could be spent at other positions and make the team better than keeping Beck would have. Not hard to understand.
There can only be one winner for each player auction. Miami won the Carson Beck auction.

In short it was a mutual decision that benefitted both parties.

He heard they were filming Simple Jack 2 in south Florida.
