I think 90% of football fans might would say even more successful.

He wouldn't have gotten SA'd at Ryan Airport, that's for sure.

Whats so crazy about it? No Bama dynasty to compete with in the West and in recruiting.

I think he'd have won 8 or more additional titles at LSU if he had stayed.

Which public school in Louisiana did you get your GED from?

Not saying that. Bama has all the resources and then some.

I mean Les Miles and Orgeron won Championships at LSU afterwards so you tell me. Nobody knows if more, less, or whatever but likely would have been in the ballpark.

"As successful" are the pertinent words here which would mean "as many titles."

The odds are slim. It's an over/under question. "As successful" would be a push.

The question is, would he have accumulated "more titles" or "fewer titles?"

The obvious answer is potentially more because of a longer tenure at LSU.

Probably

Orgeron and Miles won titles at LSU. I bet Saban would have 10 rings if he stayed. All that instate talent on both sides of the ball

Where would Alabama be? CFB wouldn’t be the same

Theoretically, Saban would have had opportunities to win in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

It's possible he may have won more titles.

In the Saban "A Football Life", they say they could have had just as much success had they'd have stayed at LSU.

why couldn't he have gotten to 8?

he already had 1 at LSU
'05, '06, '07 were all teams already built to compete and possibly win one.
no telling what '08 would have looked like with Saban instead of Miles building that team.

that gives him 4 years of teams already built that he didn't have at Alabama.

then he won 6 from '09-'23.
I think he could have had a similar run at any of the big schools.

so yeah 8 was doable.
definitely not guaranteed, but doable.

No. Simple. LSU is not and has never been and will never be Bama. Even before Saban Baka owned LSU

High School Algebra 1:
Saban 2x the coach that Les is.
Saban is 4y the coach that O is.
How many titles would Saban have won at LSU from 2005-2025?
Solution guide:
x is 1.5
y is 1
2(1.5) + 4(1)

Never thought about it that way

I always thought he needed to get the NFL out of his system to become the Saban we all know now.

He realized he would always be a college coach and became super focused

He lost a bunch of games at LSU
