This guy is so out of his league. How long will the gumps continue to prop this clown up? He hit the lottery by having Penix carry him thru the Pac 12 and cashed his ticket when AD Byrne brought all $ the gumps had in savings to the table.

He knows he’s fricked unless he has a miraculous turnaround

his buyout guarantees bama will keep him for at least 2 more years. If not 3

OK then I’m going long on head-sized paper sacks

A new quarterbacks coach is needed

There wasn't a single comment in that presser that seemed to indicate any awareness of what is actually wrong. If you can't identify the problem, how can anyone in the program trust that we are on a path to fixing it?
Nothing but coach speak "its a team sport" "everyone has to do their part" "can't play on our heels and be hesitant".

If there is one fact every Bama fan knows it is Deboer’s buyout number…

Even in the face of losing, that Deboer is a winner.

This board said the buyout would keep A&M from firing Jimbo.

I choose to believe that Alabama football is dying, fast.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He is oblivious to the unrest and hate that is about to rain down on him and his staff. He was clapping and had the 1000 yard stare whenever a gump had a penalty or bad play. Hard to believe they went from Saban to this softy.

This is the kind of talk that works in the ultra woke state of Washington, but not here.

bama boosters don't have A&M booster money.
ETA To fire DeBacle, his staff, and keep players from bolting, it will cost over 100M.

This is why the buyout will be negotiated down to 45 mil and a lengthy payment plan. Everyone assumes the coach has all the leverage and would never accept less than what he is owed, but Alabama actually has a ton of leverage here. The advantage of being insanely rich is money doesn't get to dictate your happiness or circumstances. He and his family will gladly negotiate the buyout down in exchange for being released from the burden of having to be the Alabama coach for 2 more seasons under one of the heaviest crowns in sports.

And he can leave and keep some of his credibility in tact. Rapidly transition to an espn consulting gig while he sets himself up for a different HC position.
If he stays on for another 2 years he will solidify his place in history as one of the greatest football failures and no one will touch him.
