A few who spring immediately to mind. Obviously, as an Alabama fan, more Tide RBs will be listed because they are more easily remembered for me:
Darren McFadden
Nick Chubb
Todd Gurley
Derrick Henry
Trent Richardson
Tre Mason
Leonard Fournette
Najee Harris
Mark Ingram II

Marcus Lattimore. Had he stayed healthy he could've won a Heisman

Has had a very good pro career, but he didn't do anything special at Tennessee.

Under the radar but Alex Collins (RIP) is Arkansas' second leading rusher behind McFadden. Had 3,700 career yards in three seasons, which is more than guys like Henry and Mark Ingram.

If we’re going all the way back to 2000..
Joseph Addai was very good and played in NFL for a long time.

The question is ‘best’ RBs, not ‘most accomplished in college’
Him being laughably used by one of the conference’s preeminent retards doesn’t change how good he was

I can agree the topic is a little unclear.
But the inclusion of Trent Richardson in the OP makes me believe he was looking for the most accomplished in college, not the ones who turned out to be the best.

s/o for Benny Snell Jr. Snubbed by his hometown team, he went on to have a great career at UK, rushing for almost 4,000 yds in 3 seasons. Loved his attitude & heart (fwiw).

AU had that kid Johnson back in 2000(?) that was really good. Punished defenses.
And right after him AU had Brown and Williams.

McFadden and Henry are the two that stand out the most to me. Both were absolute beasts.
