re: Arkansas - LSU CHOKE Day

Hogs 9-1 in last ten games against Tony Bitchello. Hell, even the Arkansas football team has won four straight against Tennessee.

This guy. Arkansas dominated for years.

McDonnell's 40 national championships (which include 19 in indoor track, 10 in outdoor track and 11 in cross country) are more than any coach in any sport in the history of college athletics.[8]

McDonnell also won five national triple crowns (in 1984-85, 1991–92, 1992–93, 1994–95 and 1998–99). Texas-El Paso has won three national triple crowns.

Rumors suggested that Boogie Fland, a talented college basketball player from Arkansas, could receive up to $7 million in NIL deals to play for the Florida Gators if he withdrew from the NBA Draft. However, college basketball insiders have called this figure inaccurate, suggesting it's an inflated valuation used as a recruiting tactic. While Fland is a highly sought-after player with strong NBA draft potential, experts believe his NIL value would likely be closer to $3-4 million.
Fland was out for the remainder of the regular season after undergoing surgery on his thumb. During his absence, fellow freshman D.J. Wagner stepped up as the primary ball-handler. Additionally, players like Karter Knox and Billy Richmond III flourished with increased minutes.

Made the same Sweet 16 UK did without much contribution from Fland.

Horton earned all-state honors for the Dewitt Dragons in 1956 before making his way to Fayetteville. He played on legendary Coach Frank Broyles’ first three Southwest Conference championship teams at Arkansas, lettering as a defensive halfback in 1959, 1960 and 1961. He played in the Gator, Cotton and Sugar bowls and his teams combined for a 25-8 record. Horton was elected captain in 1961 in a vote by his teammates.

Coach Broyles brought Horton back to campus when he hired him as linebackers coach in 1968. Horton coached 13 years under Broyles and Lou Holtz. He moved from coaching the linebackers to the defensive line in 1977 and served in that capacity for four seasons under Coach Holtz.

As an assistant coach and later an administrator, he was involved with the annual high school coaching clinic and established recruiting relationships in schools big and small. Big asset to the program for many, many years.
Ouch. And against the Cardinals.

Not really sure how a dude sounding like a movie character and Arkansas draft picks are connected.

Many Arkansas fans were posting on another board that Madden would never take a snap at Arkansas. This was 3 weeks ago. How prophetic.

Petrino had some good things to say about him.

“Madden’s a special talent now,” Petrino said. “He can really get the ball out of his hands. He sees stuff and has a great, quick release.”

"But somebody pops open and he can stick it and put it right on their hands," Petrino said. "The last guy that I coached that did that a lot as a true freshman was Lamar Jackson. You know where you don’t see anything but all of a sudden they throw a post for a touchdown and everyone’s going, ‘Damn, how did he see that?’ That wasn’t even in his progression. But that ability is something that is hard to coach. And his vision is just something that’s really good."

Like many others, in the Hall of Very Good.
Sans the James Franklin years, Vandy.

Hmm must not be due to Arky fans. You can go to your next game for $167.

Well, Auburn to Atlanta is just a little closer than Arkansas to San Francisco. Ticket prices would be much higher if Arkansas was playing somewhere like Dallas, OKC or St. Louis.
Careful. That Neyland North thing didn't work out so well.

It was followed by St. John's (big market) so the entire night drew well.

The Arkansas men's basketball team's NCAA Tournament first round game against Kansas on Thursday drew big viewership numbers for CBS, the network announced Friday.

The primetime window on the tournament's opening day, headlined by the matchup between the Razorbacks and Jayhawks, drew an average of 12.2 million viewers. It was the most-watched first-round window in the history of the tournament.

Another reason to skip the golden arch.
Playing in their home town hasn't helped Vandy BB too much.
