How difficult would it be for a Power 4 team to play ZERO ranked teams this year?

Play in the ACC

And wow Michigan has one of the easiest schedules I’ve ever seen.

Hell, with Michigan's schedule Arkansas would have a shot at a playoff bid. That is just silly easy.

Michigan has Ohio State. That's it.

The ACC has Miami and Clemson at least. Virginia avoiding both of those may set up an Indiana-type season if they have a decent squad. Syracuse is in the ACC and somehow plays 5.

And the SEC doesn't play anyone crowd needs to shut up. of the 14 teams that have 5 ranked teams or better, 10 are SEC. Kudos to TCU and Wisconsin.

Ranked “preseason” teams. Early ranking (week 0) are just to influence the committee by getting media darlings ranked, and manufacturing “ranked” Week 2-4 games. A #1 horn vs #2 OSU (both replacing an arm and a leg) looks good on TV, a ranked ND and ranked A&M week 4 looks better on TV for the big wigs in charge even tho we don’t know if those ranking were deserving.

Why does Michigan's logo say "football" on it?

I hate that team so much

I didn't realize how light Tenner's schedule was.

And they'll still lose 4 or 5 games minimum. It's just how they work. Eternal mediocrity.

Just not a good time to be a State fan. The schedule is brutal. You get Texas, Georgia, Florida, A&M, Tennessee and Ole Miss in the SEC, then you get a playoff team returning 17 starters in Arizona State as a non-conference.

State could go 4-8 and be a much improved team. Schedule flips next year and we get Minnesota non-conference. They went 8-5 last year but gave up 31 to Iowa and lost to Rutgers. They aren't good.

Also @Arky and @Mizzou. State will be the underdog in every SEC game. I’m guessing the O/U win total is 3.

If I’m looking at that correctly, 11 of the ACC teams play two or less ranked opponents

Wisconsin really getting hosed.

At least every SEC team has to play a few ranked opponents. How the hell is Wisconsin playing that many more ranked teams than Michigan within the same league?

Michigan is going to take an L in week 2. No way is a true freshman quarterback coming into Norman and winning against thar Sooner defense.

There’s no way to tell how anybody will be years out when schedules are made.

It is amazing how much schedule difficulty can vary within the same conference, especially now that we have these mega-conferences where you miss a lot of opponents. Look at the difference between Tennessee, Missouri, and Auburn versus Florida, Oklahoma, and Mississippi State, or the difference between Syracuse and Virginia. It's striking.
