Yep, he'll be back in BR after this season if BK can't get it done.

Think it depends on what the NIL stuff looks like on whether he goes back anywhere in college.

He hated it and his massive talent advantage went away quicklike

Unc- Mack brown, chapel bill

Usce- holtz, spurrier

He’s going to the Carolinas……

All jokes aside I could see him going the mid major/fcs route. A place not about the money where he can actually enjoy coaching kids who want learn and work.

He hated dealing with diva players demanding raises at all turns.

Hating dealing with divas is also why he left the Dolphins for Alabama.

Which is completely fair. However, the game isn't going back to it's pre 2022 ways anytime soon, even with a salary cap.

Does anyone think a kid who is getting recruited in 2028 is not going to at least look at 2025 numbers for a comparison and teams will not find ways to pay under the table. It may go back to pre NIL days a bit, but it's much harder to do with the regulatory stuff in place now

If true, I’d have to think NFL job. But Florida and Michigan were the first two major college jobs that came to my mind that might open up in the next 1-2 years

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’d be very very surprised if Saban takes a college job again. And in the unlikely event that he did take a college job, I definitely don’t think it would be in the SEC.

No chance, he already showed he can't compete at that level.

I doubt it. He retired for very specific reasons and those reasons haven't changed.

I don't doubt he misses coaching and how things were when players wanted to be developed, but the reality is those days are gone and he knows it.

I could see him coaching something lower level like highschool or peewee where money isn't part of it. Or maybe take a positions/DC job.

If he does, I will assume it won't be in college football since college football is what made him quit in the first place.

I don't think he'll ever coach again, but if he does, he'll have some cushy position coaching job in the NFL.

Winning record year one and a 21-0 win over the Pats during their dynasty year two in Miami spiraled but to be fair it was destined to fail when he couldn’t sign Brees.

I still don’t see him ever going back to the NFL but if given the right situation with a proven QB, who knows?

Where's the lie? He was so bad in his second season with the Dolphins, some of the players wanted to kick his arse.

Saban was a great coach, but he had a HUGE talent advantage over his opponents for most of his college career. NFL is designed to have more parity and spread the talent around.

McElroy clarified what was reported he said. He did say that but then immediately said he didn't think it would happen, that comment was not his opinion. Finebaum chipped in with Saban is having the time of his life, making great money with his one-day-a week job at ESPN, playing a lot of golf & "I don't see that happening at any place / anytime." And with Saban's age, any big time program would be hiring a short term only new head coach.

Wouldn’t he hate seeing his best players transfer out to bigger programs?
