Much harder to win a ship in baseball than in football.

Makes what LSU has done that much more impressive.
The number one and two seed couldn’t get out of the first stage of the playoffs this year. That would never happen in football. Teams like Murray st had a shot at a title, coastal Carolina could have had their second one. The field of teams is so much larger and competitive.
Really only 6-8 teams have a shot every year in football of actually winning it. And the bigger spending teams will widen the gap. The playoffs will make it harder now, much like what the super regionals did, but that wasn’t the case until this year.

Agreed and LSU is the GOAT

Winning in this format takes as much luck as skill and coaching, but I'd take a 5 year baseball drought for a natty run in football this season

If that were true lsu would have more football championships than baseball championships in unless lsu just cares about baseball more

No.
LSU baseball is hegemonic. I would trade it for nothing.

It is a true championship format.
Would like to see basketball do the same format.
Impossible for football.

These teams have won a national title in baseball since 1980:
Arizona
Arizona State
Cal St. Fullerton
Stanford
Pepperdine
Rice
Oregon State
Fresno State
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
Virginia
Coastal Carolina
Mississipi State
Ole Miss
But, yeah, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay harder to win a ship in baseball than football.

Is this looked at with a football lens? Having Villanova and Gonzaga being good at basketball doesn't make it easier to win. I am confused to the point of this post.

None of those teams have a shot in hell at winning a title in football.
Therefore, it is much easier to win a title in baseball.
Shouldn't be confusing at all.

You left off a number of teams, off the top of my head, LSU, USC, Miami, Texas, Florida, Georgia.
Is the point you’re trying to make is that unlikely schools can win it shows its easier to win? I think you proved the opposing points. The fact that these teams can win shows it’s harder to win it.

Nope.
Why don't any of them have a title in football then?
Because it's harder to win one in football.

I’m thinking you’re trolling but I’ll bite. What does that have to do with anything? Does Kansas, Duke and Kentucky not having football titles mean March madness is easy to win? I think most people would agree the basketball is the toughest to win.

LSU fans are seeking validation from the rest of us. Apparently they can't enjoy a baseball championship without our approval

How many regular season games can a basketball or baseball team LOSE and still win a title?
Ten? Twelve? Sixteen?
Now do football.

Depends on what you mean by “harder.”
If there are enough variables in the format to make it “harder” for the best team to win it all, then that just makes it “easier” for a second rate team to win it all.

I mean a team from the Sun Belt won a title eight years ago and almost won one again
That shite ain’t happening in football
That shite ain’t happening in football

You left out UF and Tennessee. And Miami. And Wichita State. And Georgia. And Texas. And OU. And USC. And UCLA.
Not sure what your point was here.
If anything, it shows there’s a lot more parity in baseball than football. Any size D1 school can win it which makes winning multiples harder not easier.
