You don't fire a coach for making the semifinals in Omaha. He'll coach as long as he wants to.
I still love the guy, but I don't think he gets a ring anymore and that breaks my heart.

He won't get a ring because he's unwilling to make a call when the game is tight like last night. You can't pitch to Jones there. you HAVE to play the percentages. Don't let their best bat beat you.
I'm not saying fire him, but this literally describes his entire tenure. Great guy, wins a ton of games, cannot seem to play the right cards to win it all.

I want him as our coach, but if he gets a ring going forward it'll be a pleasant surprise rather than the expectation I held before. I thought for sure he'd get one eventually. Now I think we're looking at Mike Martin the sequel. I hate it.
If any team was gonna do it, it was this year. I just can't fathom him putting together a better lineup than this.

Agreed. Gonna be hard to put this kind of firepower in a lineup next year unless we can rake the portal for some power.

I don't get the hate for DVH. We literally have guys just have freak shite happen to them. That's not a coaching thing.
I didn't agree with pitching to Jones at all, can throw stones at that all day long. The colossal brain farts on 3-4 guys is not a coach fault.

DVH clearly gets nervous and it affects the entire team. It’s not “just baseball” it’s a pattern. It’ll happen again with entirely different players.

Agree. No way you can fire him nor should we. He's earned the right to go out on his own terms. I feel like his retirement will be sooner than later.

Correct. He’s never going to win because he’s at Arkansas. If he was at any other SEC school he’d already have one. But we are destined to forever be good and never great. So he’ll never get one unfortunately

It's funny, I had that thought as well about the Aloy with the double play and Davalan with the misplay of the fly ball over the weekend.
Why be upset with them or the situation in general? If there's any other name across their chest than “Arkansas”, they make that play. Thanks for being a Hog and embracing the pain.
