I get that BYU played defense like Luka, but hitting 25 three's is just stupid. That won't happen again, but if Alabama goes something like 12 for 30 from three, we'll have a game.

If Bama plays and shoots like last night, they will overwhelm duke

Duke is another level of competiton from BYU. Alabama will have to work much harder against Duke.

So if Alabama hits 25 three pointers again they will win? Yeah, no shite. But that’s not going to happen.

Duke plays defense and has an entire starting lineup of like 6’6 to 7’2. Fully capable of beating them but it will likely not be a replay of last night

I would love to see it, but I think Duke will have a different strategy on defense from what BYU had.

The good thing is Nate always has the toughest non-conference schedule in the country so the team is well prepared. Not saying Bama wins but they shouldn't be in awe...so to speak.

Yes they are. Luckily we've played about 6 games against teams in the same general stratosphere as Duke (Auburn 2x, Florida 2x, Houston, Tennessee). We may not have enough to win, but nothing about them will shock our system.

And we won't shoot like we did last night because we won't shoot that many 3s and they certainly won't be as open. We shot that many 3s last night because that is what they gave us. Duke's defense will give us some issues with all their length, but we've played good offense against pretty much everyone this year - including Tennessee, Houston, Auburn and Florida. It's consistently getting stops on the other end that will decide things.

Alabama has already played the most difficult schedule in the country. Alabama is pretty battle tested.

On paper Duke has a slight advantage.

They will play far superior defense to what we saw against BYU, have the best roster in CBB and have the best overall player.

But Bama will also present challenges Duke hasn’t seen this year.

Bama has Nelson and Diabotte, both of whom have the size and experience to defend Flagg.

Cliff is a perfect matchup with Maluach.

The key matchups IMO will be whether the perimeter size of Duke (6’6 / 6’7 / 6’6) is too much for Bamas undersized perimeter shooters to get off clean looks.

Stephenson will have to play better for Alabama. I’d think he’ll have to get more minutes defending Flagg. He’s long.

This will sadly come down to free throws.

Duke will shoot 20+ more FTs and beat BAMA by 9.

If the refs eat their whistles, BAMA wins.

Duke is ranked 36 in 3 point defense. BYU is 292.

Most players are open 35 feet from the basket. The other team is more than happy to let their opponent jack up shots from there most games because who in their right mind shoots 15’ behind the line? Apparently Alabama. Alabama kept making them was the problem for BYU. Most shots within a few feet of the three point line were contested. But you are right, they left them open on the 35 footers. And Holloway and Sears kept burying them.

How well Bama does in transition will tell the story. Open looks at 3's and getting into the paint. Duke gonna get theirs, to have a chance Bama has to be effective on offense.
