Has the portal been a positive or a negative to your school?

It has been a blessing to Ohio State. Our additions from Alabama and Mississippi alone were well worth it.

Yeah, the transferring part isn't really the new part. So it's not really "the portal". It's everything that comes with it now. It's turned into free agency and the schools have no protection.

It's been a negative for the entire sport.
This, people keep saying “everyone’s upset that athletes are getting paid.” Most everyone knows the athletes have been getting paid at least since the bcs(I know big programs have been doing it since the sixties at least but I’m talking the wake forests of the world too) and no one cares. The portal is what pisses everyone off, it’s killed off season fun, bc why even get excited about hauling in a group of blue chips if they just leave before seeing the field. You used to feel at least some kinda attachment to the guys because they chose your school(I know they wouldn’t be there without the paycheck but all the big programs were paying near the same so they chose your culture). They took in pride in the school bc they spent at least two years tjere and zero years anywhere else.

THIS... It is doing its part to ruin the once proud sport of cfb. I can see where a bunch of goofballs from schools like Ohio st would think its a 'blessing' because its the only way they can compete with the real elite of college football...aka: SEC upper tier.

Alabama has finished with the #1 or #2 recruiting class every year of NIL except this incoming class, which was #3.
On the field Alabama has won the SEC twice and made the playoffs twice since NIL began , so your comment is ignorant

For Arkansas I would have to say its been a push, The portal gives us a chance to bring in transfers that can have an immediate impact that we wouldn't have been able to sign out of high school. It has also caused us to loose some talented players. That said being old school I hate it.
