Has there ever been a top 10 polled team get an 8 seed? Either AU or UL is very unlucky with that draw.

Louisville was 4-6 in Quad 1 games, 0-4 in the non-conference. 8 was a bit low, but given the lack of strength in the ACC I'm not surprised they dropped.
That said, they rightfully have beef with getting seeded lower when UNC still got in. It should be reasoned that if the ACC schedule wasn't strong enough to give UofL a higher seed than UNC shouldn't have gotten in at all.

Everyone behind them except Gonzaga is a higher seed. Even some teams receiving votes are a higher seed

Creighton is no slouch. It got pretty screwed too. Has to open with Louisville, and get the top overall seed if it gets past the Cards.

The AP poll is a joke based off of recency bias.
Michigan is a 5 seed yet the AP poll has them ranked #14

Gonzaga is another weird one, as they're top 10 in KenPom but an 8 seed.

I don't think the voters themselves would favor Louisville to beat a bunch of teams ranked 11-25.
Louisville arguably deserved a 7 seed rather than an 8 seed, but there's no way in hell they deserved a 3 seed, which is what a #10 ranking implies.
And I don't understand how UNC got in at all if Louisville only got an 8 seed.

Their actual resume is about that of an 8 seed. They have 8 losses while playing in the WCC.

Oh, I'm not arguing their seeding, just thinking it's interesting how vastly different they are between their seeding and their KenPom ranking.

The polls only reflect wins and losses, and the human perspective of where teams should fall based on that.
The ACC was arse this year top to bottom, and I believe it was dead last in power Conference rankings.
The seed is not surprising at all.

They vaulted into the Top 10 over the last 2 months by beating..........Clemson 2x.
That's the list.
That's the list.

This. They are not under-seeded, they are over-ranked.

Yeah, and I doubt that the voters themselves really think that Louisville is the 10th best team in the country. It's a result of Louisville's good record, as well as the fact that most of Louisville's losses were a long time ago, before conference play.
And Louisville's not even a team that's rated mediocrially by analytics but has built up an actual collection of wins like Memphis.

They probably got hosed but the ACC being dogshit didn’t help them

I mean, #14 should equate to a 4 seed, so it's not THAT off. Nowhere near the discrepancy with Louisville.

OU beat Louisville and Michigan nothing to see here.
