IDK, because Georgia is weird?

They are going to do the same thing this weekend with 4 games against (checks schedule) Florida Gulf Coast.

Why did Georgia play 4 games with Illinois-Chicago?

We spent the first 5 games of the year on the road and UIC is doing the typical northern school barnstorming tour of the South, having just played in Charleston before driving to us. Just made sense for both sides to maximize number of games.

It’s a departure from our normal scheduling where we front load heavily with Tech, Clemson, Ga Southern, Mercer, etc and have a really high RPI going into SEC play. Part of that was needing to start on the road to allow construction time to wrap on the stadium expansion. Another part was our deal with Southern really sucked for us competitively having to bus midweek to Augusta and Statesboro to play games where they threw starters and we threw midweek arms. And then you have possible beef between Wes and Danny Hall over how last seasons 3 game series went down with the Friday game conveniently being called before becoming official while we had a big lead.

Challenge with early stats is level of teams played. Still good to look them over, but some teams have played quality teams and this skews stats. Your pitchers face better hitters and your batters face better pitchers.

This is the one I’m most impressed with. He is a true freshman and faced quality pitching staffs. Played and beat 2 top 10 teams. He also made some great D plays. Kid is going to be a good one.

Miracle work honestly. Ole Miss had to be the worst fielding team in the SEC last year.

Oh he has always been pimping Tennessee baseball early and often. Even back when they sucked. I will give him credit for that.
