Is LSU the MiG 25 Foxbat of College Sports?

The Mig-25 Foxbat was the highest flying (125,000 ft), and one of the fastest airplanes (Mach 3.2) ever built. The planes high performance capabilities was such that the engines and airframes had to be replaced/repaired after only a few flights and the planes were de-rated to a lower performance to stay operational.
Seems like LSU pushes all their chips in the middle for a mad dash to the top, only to have a long descent back to where they started, until they can save and cheat and build and steal their way back for another sprint.

UT throws all that money at their program and can't reach the top...

How many football nattys do you have since 2003?

How do you know Texas spends any more money on its programs than anyone else?
That said, LSU has really punched above its weight. They've made the best of a bad situation, being located in such a poor shithole state and all. Couldn't imagine having to live in Louisiana and not having the occasional sports success to distract you from your 3rd world lifestyle.

A shame some poor, shithole state is still able to have more recent success in college sports than Texas. I guess all those Mexicans and CA transplants don't offer much advantage.

Little Matty M is still melting over 2019.

Texans couldn’t even defend their own state against the Mexicans. Had to call for out of state help.

The U.S. didn't truly understand what the Foxbat was and what it was designed for until Belenko handed it over and we were able to get our hands on it and uncover it for ourselves.
We thought it was an air superiority fighter that was going to allow the Soviets to compete with and possible dominate the most modern of American aircraft due to its high-end capabilities.
In reality it was a quick fix answer in the form of an interceptor whose job it was to take off, take one shot at an American fighter whose invaded their airspace, land, and refuel. It just so happened to have super high-end capabilities due to the ingenious idea of wielding two superpowered engines to one plane to give it an advantage over other jets, albeit one limited in range.
What I described to you isn't LSU.
What I described to you is Oklahoma, who we thought was going to be competitive, but in reality isn't going to dominate this conference in anything, and this year that American who invaded their airspace happened to be Alabama.
You're welcome.

"In reality" the foxbat was an interceptor designed to take down high-flying US spyplanes like the U2, not to intercept invading fighter planes, hence the altitude ceiling and Mach 3+ capability.
It was a dump-truck with big engines. Too heavy, not maneuverable at all, and easy to kill from a below-horizon attack vector, to which it was completely blind.
In other words, it was a useless piece of shite with big engines that sounded and looked impressive. Like your team last year.

That's exactly how the Soviets would answer.
Well done, comrade.

I upvoted without reading OP. Creative analogy points

Well it's factual, which I'm sure triggers you.
Congrats on having a winning season for once, at something. Talk about "one shot".

Most UT folks don’t have a lot of money. It’s a very few billionaires that give the money there. Most longhorns work for Aggies.

Soooooooo, the Longhorns are the French Army of 1940, I guess? Living off of past glories. Expensive to maintain. A culture full of undeserved arrogance.
