They are a pretty dense bunch. I think it will in fact take a few first round exits before their mouthbreating fan base truly catches on to the wisdom we offered tonight

They still have a nasty offense and that alone can carry you far in March. I’m not writing them off.

It's ride or die by the three.

They had 2 points of free throws guaranteed on the blocks and refused to capitalize.

They do not play defense.

This is not the winning march formula.it is the formula to be the huge first round upset.

Unless you’re hitting.

The same things were said about Alabama last year, and their defense was worse than Kentucky's this season. Bama made the final four. Get hot at the right time, have a decent draw with favorable matchups, and you never know.

And the years before?

The same was true with an early exit.

They rank 287 out of 355 in scoring defense. That will offset a nasty offense in March.

It was. Last night was typical for Cal. He loses games he shouldn't, then wins one he shouldn't.
Arkansas played their best game all year last night. The old Kentucky players wanted it more and it showed.

Your best win of the season. Enjoy it.

Possibly the most unaware statement ever made on this site, and that's saying something.

This. They were 16-32 at State and won by 5. Now granted we have been poor defending the three this year. But given that shooting percentage they should have won by more than 5 points.
As long as they are falling you are fine but there will be nights when the rim shrinks. And when it does you will have a L pop up on your record at the buzzer.

I’d still rather have Pope over Cal. One game doesn’t change that.

Giving up 89 points at home to Arkansas. They should learn what defense is.

I agree. The program had grown stale under Cal. Pope has brought a fresh new energy and you guys will be fine. It is only one game. And thankfully for us at State, yesterday was only one game when we stunk the gym mightily.

Same Arky team that beat Michigan earlier. To say the hogs were underachieving, based on talent alone, is an extreme understatement. Maybe it's a wake-up call in the short run but Cal is Cal and I fully expect a lot more of the ups and downs that follow his coaching style.

Yep, and with Butler maybe out for a while, this team will struggle. We don't really have a point guard and it showed. Not to mention he was our best defender.

We'll see if this was a kickstart for Arkansas to finally play better, or if they will keep getting blown out. If they keep losing, then it will look worse on UK's performance.
